House Upgrading

I was just wondering if there is anyone on here who hasn't upgraded their house the entire way and doesn't plan to?

I've just started a new town and I don't think I'm going to go past the second house you get (the 6x6 one). I quite like how cute it looks from the outside and then I can decorate it depending on the season - so it'll be the mush series soon, then halloween, then the cabin series with a christmas tree and a fireplace etc etc.

On my old town I had my home completely upgraded but I struggled with ideas for the main room because it had all the exits leading from it so it was awkward, I also hate how the fully upgraded home looks from the outside.

It does mean I'll never get the badge for HHA points, but then again I'll never get the badge for street pass and that doesn't bother me either!

Oh and it means my house is the same size as the villagers, which makes me happy xD

So, does anyone else prefer a small cottage to a mansion?

I might be doing this when it's time for me to create a second character for my town I want my mayor to have the biggest house. But the other characters in my town I don't want to go all out on the upgrades. But instead focus on making the house look cute

i've honestly never thought of that ;w; i have so many ideas for rooms that i want to fully expand 3 houses and have all the themes i can think of >_<

My mayor has the 8x8 expansion of the main room and I'm keeping it at that. In my previous town I had a fully upgraded house (attic, basement, whatever) but I was never able to decorate the rooms in a way I actually liked and it annoyed the heck out of me. So when I reset I decided that this time I would have only one room and I quite like the way it is. So yeah; no fully upgraded house for me anymore!

I definitely like the look of the smaller cottages from the outside, but that's never stopped me from upgrading. And I love the castle exterior. Really wish that we could upgrade the villager homes even if only a little, sometimes their houses seem so cramped.

one of my side character's side rooms aren't fully upgraded. The left one isn't because it's furnished and I like it the way it is (i might change it one day though) and the right one is just the same size because idk. That character's house is really ugly ):<

my main character's house isn't fully upgraded. basement is medium/left wing is medium/back room is the smallest. i find it more realistic as a house to have them all different sizes. i might eventually upgrade them all if i can think of more room inspo that requires more space

omg that's such a cute idea! Or a little cottage in the woods! My mayor and the second character have the full expansions, but the third character I'm going to keep it small :] It's only going to have the attic and the right room expanded... I think... lol! We'll see ^.^
