Hm, let's see - I like the holidays because I get to spend time with my family and give gifts to other people and make them happy. Well, and of course receive, too! c:
Hello~ I like the holidays because of winter break and sleeping in. The snow is always pretty to look at, and hot chocolate is the best thing in the world *_*
Hello Mayor Emily ! I'm Sofia, but I usually go by Sofi.
The holidays is probably my favourite time of year and that's not only because of the presents. I love spending the time with family when we're all together. I know it sounds pretty cheesy, but I love my family a whole lot. Both sides of my family come to our house to celebrate, even relatives from out of town. It's that one time of year where everyone gets together, because we usually don't see each other for a pretty long time. I love being able to catch up with all of them and especially with my cousin, Mia. Mia & I have been like two peas in a pod since were little. I'm an only child, so I never really had the experience of having a sibling. I classify Mia as basically my sister and it's great to see her around. She lives in England and because my family is not financially supported to send me over, we only get to see each other during christmas. So, I guess this is why I love the holiday's so much. Though, to add on Presents are heaps of fun to open, i love the thrill and surprise element of it all. But, I'll stop rambling.
I really hope I can get either prizes, because I recently restarted my town. Someone destroyed and stole from my town a couple days ago and there was too much damage, which, lead me to restart. I would love to use the extra bells to do some work around the town, as well as make my town's members happy :") I promise the bells would be in great use and I find it extremely kind of you to simply be making this giveaway.
Anyway I absolutely love the holiday season. Something about most people becoming suddenly cheerful and helpful just puts me in a great place. I have been so touched this year by the kindness that goes around. Some Christmas angel bought my son a few Christmas presents because we're having money troubles atm. She didn't even know me and it was so sweet, the fact that complete strangers can be so full of love and understanding for each other makes this time of year so amazing. Wish it could be that way all the time. We should help those in need all year round, not just at Christmas.
I also love the decorations I live in New England in the USA and the decorations with the snow is sooo beautiful. Though looks like no snow for Christmas this year lol
Edit: Oh and HappyHolidaysTo You!
My favourite thing about the holiday season is baking treats and making crafts for people! Every year my grandmother and I do crafts for the whole family, this year we did glitter ombre candleholders! Back when I was in high school I used to come to school with cookies or brownies or fudge and hand them out to my classmates and club mates. I am no longer in high school and sadly I am not in touch with many of those people anymore but I did manage to keep in touch with some of them On the day the students from my old school come back from winter break I will be visiting my old teachers and my friends that are still in high school, most of whom I haven't seen in six months.
Right now one of my best friends is sick and going through a rough time, so I made them cookies(I tried a new recipe!) a card(I made a winter-themed pun out of their name so the card is instructions on how to build a snowman version of them, also there's a TON of glitter, I really hope it makes them smile). I'm hopefully going to deliver it to them tomorrow! A few winters from my now I hope to be able to say that my favourite thing about winter is drinking hot cocoa with them and watching movies together, but for now we aren't able to see each other more than every few months
Sorry for rambling, I hope you don't mind u____u Happy holidays to everyone :3
I'm not as excited about the holiday season. Maybe because I'm getting old or perhaps I'm just longing for my loved ones. This will be the first year that I won't be celebrating a Chriistmas or New Years with my mother and my Great Grandma(both passing away in the same year). And cauae of that, I'm not excited. I feel dull, very very dull. When they were alive, every Christmas we would play The white elephant gift exchange. And seeing my whole family come together to rival each other out in a playful manner was just fun. My mom and Great grandma would always steal someone else gift if they begin to make a sob story about it, like "I always wanted this EVER since I was little" and BAM, stolen. It sounds mean but my mother's laugh was just the icing on the cake. Her laugh was just..unique so whatever she stole and she did that laugh- we had to laugh too. My grandma would just begin to cry because she would be so happy that we're all got together like this just to have fun. And now, it just feels empty. Like when we did the white elephant this year, it feels like it's missing something(someone to be exact). No monstrous laugh or weird crying, just empty. And I guess it's going to be like that for awhile.
I love the holidays. My family is usually a little distance and apart but this gives me a chance to be near them. I love to give and receiving some lovely things is just a bow on the package.
Hi. Thanks for the giveaway. I don't like christmas music or the cheesy christmas movies they play on Lifetime. I don't like having huge parties/get togethers with family. dealing with family drama, etc. I think the holidays should be relaxing & I think a lot of the ways we celebrate are actually very stressful. This year I am sitting around with two family members and watching a documentary on bears. it is great.
I enjoy the holiday season because it's the season of giving. Although my family doesn't consider Christmas to be a big deal, I still enjoy it. There's always a different feel in the air around this time, and that's what I like about Christmas <3
Hello! I love the holiday season because this is the one time of the year when everyone just seems to be in a better mood and you take time to remember what is really important. Spending time with loved ones and making time to enjoy one another's company is great this time of year. It's also about giving, and not just of gifts, but of your time, your efforts, and your love to those people who are important and those who are less fortunate. Serving and giving love to others. That's what I love about Christmas and this time of year
1) I live right behind a mall and crazy drivers make walking my dog 3 times a day rather dangerous, &
2) my family, home city, and all of our traditions are too far away for me to visit and partake in - and I really miss the luminarias.
I would love to enter!
I just love the holiday season because it gives me a break from school and actually gives me and everyone else time to reflect and spend time with each other. Everyone is calmer and relaxed because they just all forget their jobs to remember what really matters. But I don't like shopping cause th malls are too busy and smell weird
Gosh that was sappy
I like the holiday season because all religions have their own celebrations around the same time and its just so interesting to learn about what other religions do! Happy Holidays, everyone!
Since My boyfriend and I have moved out to go to university, we have been "out of sight, out of mind" from our families. For instance, my father didn't get me anything this year. Last year, we went out and bought my boyfriend's whole family and extended family thoughtful gifts costing us $400 plus $60 shipping, meanwhile we got a small box of "stocking stuffers" of candy canes and chocolate bars in return for Christmas, while we are broke students who saved up to get them good gifts and they are a well-to-do family with stable incomes. However I like to try to keep the Christmas spirit alive and focus on my NEW family, my common-law boyfriend in our own home, start our OWN traditions, with our two twin boy cats, and so if you check out my thread that I posted this Christmas, you can see the process of me cooking our turkey feast as I expose my cooking secrets: http://www.belltreeforums.com/showt...o-Cooking-a-Turkey-Dinner-LIVE-AND-ON-THE-AIR!!!!! So I am mixed about Christmas. I want a fresh start, a fresh perspective.
I don't like the holiday season because so many people are greedy and just want to give and receive presents, which makes them forget the true meaning of the holidays. Also, because my parents don't care enough to spend time with us.
