I'm swinging back and forth on whether I want to get Legends or not. I don't really like Sinnoh as a region and the historical inaccuracy infuriates me, but I like some of the customization options and the recent leaks showed off Hisuian Goodra...and I really like Hisuian Zorua. I find most Hisuian forms atrocious, but there's a few that I think are cool.

But these new forms are concerning. Do you think they'll be eternally bound to Legends? After all, it takes place way before any mainseries game does. If they are stuck there, it's gonna irritate me. I still wished they would have put effort into making new Pokémon instead of just making a ton of variants, but for the ones I do like, I don't want to put all this love and care into them if they'll be trapped in a game that I'll definitely toss aside once a better game comes out. I'm just asking for your opinion, I know that Nintendo or Gamefreak haven't said anything about Home compatibility yet.

Do I think that they'll be Legends only? No, because abilities were in the code which means that these forms will be playable in PvP whenever Legends finally gets Home compatibility. The creative decisions for some of the Hisuian forms does leave me preplexed about Gen 9 and onwards. The Hisuian forms that have been revealed so far are among the best, yet some of them like Palkia and Dialga Lord forms are so bad it makes me question if I want to preorder another Pokémon game again.

Oh, I agree with you on the bad designs. When I saw those two, I legitimately thought it was a joke. But that is a good point, so it gives me hope that they will be able to be transferred.

Yeah those two abominations, the fairy genie and Hisuian Avalugg deserve to stay in this game and never leave. I was sad that some Hisuian forms keep bad abilities. Hisiuan Zorua/Zoroark still have Illusion. Like when will they finally give Zoroark another ability? Anyway, I can see some like Sneaslerbeing used in competitive.

I would like to know what in the world was going through their crazy minds when they looked at those two and said "yeah this is perfect everyone's gonna love these guys" lmao

I looked at screenshots of both of them in the game and I can say that my opinion of them hasn't changed. They are trash. The work environment at GF must be horrendous if your rough drafts are considered final products. I can't see how they could make Primal Groudon/Kyogre and Mega Rayquaza look good, but make these look like garbage fakemons from DeviantArt. It really is a head scratcher.

Remember that while it's not the same, GF treats new forms for existing Pokémon as "new" Pokémon, and puts the same amount of effort and care for them. Each new form has its own design elements, inspiration, cohesiveness with the lore, etc.

All the new forms and new Pokémon should appear on other games, but we clearly can't know when. HOME compatibility for Legends Arceus is confirmed, but since it's such a drastic change from the standard mainline, it'll take time to adapt all the new things to the old system (or it will give us a glimpse on what changes from Legends will stick around).

The Pokémon designs are still amazing, and all of them can find a reason to stick around: "Oh look, this ancient area is home to all these Pokémon we thought were extinct" or "this items has a familiar scent that speaks of old times... wait, is my Stantler evolving?". Even the
Lord formes of Dialga/Palkia
which have a story and lore reason to exist (and look like that) can still find a reason to appear on future generations.
