Ok, so I heard somewhere that you can kind of go on a hiatus in the game, meaning that if you leave for a while, nothing will happen to your town and your villages wont move out.

One way i heard of keeping your villagers is that if you get pinged by someone, wanting to move, then after that you can save your game and not play for an extended amount of time without losing any villagers.

i dont know if this is true, but i would like to know if it is.

if not, is there even ANY way that keeps villagers from moving??

i need a break from this game to play hhd.

Please help xD

If they ping you wanting to move and you don't tell them not to, of course they'll move.

The surefire way I've used to keep villagers from moving is to write down the last day I played and time travel back to it when I can play again. It depends on your tolerance for time travel, but if you abandon the game for a long stretch of time without doing that, I'm pretty sure you're bound to lose someone.

I might be wrong or outdated. If so, someone will correct me. Just my two cents.

I can't confirm 100% if that method is true, but it has worked for me before with Time Traveling. Right after a ping, a TT 50 years later, nobody moves out. (I did a ton of TTing in my old game.)

But, yup. Before you go you should probably set your town ordinance to The Beautiful Town so your flowers don't wilt and weeds don't attack your town. xD

Of course, ZombifiedHorror's way works 100%. I think you have to change the internal 3D's clock, though too... not sure. There's guides to hiatus, if you need a little extra help. :)
Actually, here's one I just came across on tumblr: http://animalcrossingus.tumblr.com/post/69131083206/this-guide-makes-extensive-use-of-the-nintendo

If you stop someone from moving, then save and quit, you can stop playing for as long as you need/want to. I know because I have done this numerous times with my NL towns and I've never lost a villager while doing so.. If you have the Beautiful Town ordinance set then you won't even lose any flowers.

EDIT: forgot to say that I don't change the clock when I return from hiatus. I just start playing again and leave the day/time as it is in RL. My villagers whine a bit about me being gone so long, but they get over it quickly.

Nope, no need to change the date/time on the 3DS. Just the in-game date. As long as no one is set to move, no one will be gone when you travel back to the last day you played.

Oh! Guess you learn something everyday. Thanks- That'll be handy to know. :D
