Hi everyone!

Im new to this board. I have been playing new leaf for a few weeks now. I just became Mayor of my town, prior to that I was a villager in another town but my friend, the mayor of that town demolished it lol

I am trying the reset trick. Marshal wants to move in, should I let him? It seems all "smug" personalities are trying to move in this time but I keep resetting. Im not sure if I should save or reset with this guy. should I hold out for Julian? Julian was in the other town I belonged to.

Honestly my favorite was Rudy from my old town but he's not a smug character so the search for him will have to wait. Maybe I should wait until Chadder rotates back? He seemed cute. Im assuming if I continue to reset, I will go through all the "smug" characters then it will go back and repeat the list. I'll just keep the game on sleep mode in hopes I'll figure out what to do.

I personally prefer Marshal (he is always the most loved villager ever) but just go with whoever you like!

thank you for the warm welcome! I kept marshal, and then another villager decided to move and knox moved in. I must of saved by mistake so I am stuck with knox for now. Now with more time traveling, Cecilia wants to move which is great! I am afraid to time travel again because I don't want to run the risk of losing villagers I want to keep.

Welcome to the forum! Something that works for me when I time travel to try and get villagers to move is if you do it consistently at 2 days at a time each time and walk around your town, generally someone will want to move and if you don't want them to then you can tell them to stay. I'm not sure if that is super reliable, just something I have had success with, and it prevents you from going to far and losing a well-loved villager, I think!
