I wasn't exactly sure what to call this, haha.
So when you design a room with HHP and present it to the client, they get excited, clap their tiny hands, and then you get a little montage of them wandering around the room while cheery music plays. This is a wonderful idea in theory, and I remember loving them in HHD, because you'd see the villagers resting on the hammock you carefully customized, eating at the tables you prepared, dancing to the radio, and so on. But in HHP, 95% of the "different" shots in the montage are just the villager standing in the middle of the room while the camera zooms awkwardly into random corners of furniture and pans from outside the wall, so you see the backs of paintings. Even in HHP the villagers feel so lifeless. They almost never interact with the objects you've placed, even though it's possible in their programming—if YOU place the villager, they will spritz flowers with water, snack on pie, bounce balls, etc. I've seen them do this in the montages a couple times, but it's maybe once every 4-5 houses, not several times per house like in HHD.
It's a small complaint, obviously. I'm loving the expansion and I'm having a great time making picture perfect houses for everybody. I just thought it was weird that the contrast between the old HHD montages and the new HHP montages would be SO stark. I'm playing this game with my partner, who never played Happy Home Designer, and he was really bummed when he designed the first few houses and noticed that in the montages, the villagers basically ignore the room and just stare blankly while the camera cuts from one shot to the next, pretending something different is happening in each shot when they're just slightly different angles of the center of the floor.
Anybody else notice this? Am I making it up?
