Well, admittedly, my house is one big mess right now. But when I do clean it up, I want to try for something that'll impress the guys over at HHA. Does anyone have tips--Feng Shui, general themes, etc? Right now I have about 6 plants downstairs, a few Mermaid pieces in my minuscule upstairs, and two items from Gulliver in the main room. Plus lots of other mis-matched things. I don't think I actually own any complete furniture sets yet...
There's HHA, and there's Feng Shui. Doing 100% in either one is easy, but if you want to have both it will become tricky. Or not...
First look for a complete set of furniture to make your HHA score rise high. Order some extra tables, dressers, or other stuff from your set where you can put items on. Look for plants, perhaps a Pine Tree bonsai set, fishing/bug trophies or animal pictures. These give a nice HHA rating. There are of course also items that give Luck in general, or that have a Feng Shui color but don't belong to your set. If you like them and have space in your room, put them in!
To start, some Feng Shui can be achieved by putting correct coloured items upon the tables of your set that are standing in the right zone. Plants for example, if they are green, can be placed on tables against your south wall. Trophies you have, or perhaps a Triforce or mario coin, should be placed against your west wall. Red items, like the mushroom, go on your east wall. If you own the green Mario pipe you should put it in your bottom right corner, since this item is both green and red.
The color of your furniture can also contribute to Feng Shui. Some furniture sets, like the Modern one that I am using, can be Refurished by the blue sheep at Re-tail. I first bought the complete set with extra end tables and stuff I needed and decorated my room. Than I picked up the items on my east wall and painted them red. I did the same with the others and I ended up with a colourfull Feng Shui room. For extra luck I bought 10 Modern wall clocks, painted them green red and yellow, and hang them on the appropriate wall.
Or... Focus on the HHA score now, and once you have ulocked all their rewards you can mess things up and fully focus on Feng Shui and lucky items.
