I've recently been working on trying to increase my HHA Score so I can finally get the silver and gold badges, but I'm currently stumped, with my score stuck around the 70k-80k range. Does anyone have some tips for increasing the score (hopefully without having to stash most of the items I like)? Something I might've missed?

The easiest way to get the top HHA score is to have each room contain an entire set of furniture including the wallpaper and carpet. Then, you can add items that give you a lucky bonus of 7,777 to each room to really boost your score. You can look up Thonky's guide to see all of the lucky items, but displaying fish or bugs during the season when they can be caught can get you the bonus.

There are other bonuses, but they only give you a few 100 points. The tips above should give you 30k-40k points per room easily.

You can do any set as long as it's every piece from that set, but "event" sets give more points. So holiday ones, any from Gracie, the balloon set LOL.

I think anything that is harder to obtain is worth more than regular furniture too, like mermaid set, or items from Pascal or Gulliver. But someone else will have to confirm that, I'm not entirely sure. I do know that villagers and Lyle will make a point to comment on those items as being rare.

He will not grade your basement, so you can put all the furniture you like in there and put ones that are worth more points in your other rooms, until you get the awards !

Also you can rearrange your furniture to give you feng-shui, which also nets you more points !

Sorry if you already knew all of this, hope something helps ! :)

My HHA score is currently over 215,000 and I'm reasonably sure it's because I hoard non-purchasable items. If you get something -- anything -- that can't be bought from the catalog, put it in your house. Don't even worry about the things like feng shui or whether or not it's a lucky item, because you'll still rack up points like mad for rarity. (That said if you DO bother with feng shui or lucky items, that'll still be even more points, but I've never bothered and my score is through the roof.)

Some extra tips for you:

--If something can sit on a table, put it on a table. You lose points for stuff being on the floor when it doesn't have to be.
--Like the others said, matching furniture sets with matching wallpaper and carpet get a lot of points, but if these can also be unobtainable from the catalog (aka stuff from Gracie, the mush series, the stuff you get from the Bug Off or Fishing Tourney, etc) then that'll be even more points.
--If a neighbor gives you their photo, put it on display. If you're still maintaining a friendship with that neighbor, you get bonus points on top of it.
--Don't have furniture or items facing into a wall, that'll cost you points.
--Don't leave tools sitting out. For some reason the HHA hates tools, even if it's properly stored on a table.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope that helps!!

I can give you the entire balloon set for free if you want help directly. I honestly don't like that set at all, so you'd be doing me a favor.

When my mom was going for the high score, she basically went for an easy theme to do, like trendy and rustic and chose one of them to do when Lyle asked which theme to do. Those two themes are probably the easiest, as the furniture sets from those are easy to obtain. After she chose a theme, she filled every room with furniture sets with the full set, including the wallpaper and flooring. The basement doesn't count, so don't worry about that one too much. When she did all of that, she added a couple more furniture pieces from those sets with every room to add more points. When she was done, she achieved the golden house and unlocked everything and got the highest points.

So this is best advice I can give for the moment and like others have said, rare furniture gives more points and if you have villager pictures, put them in there too. Don't leave anything on the floors and keep them clean. Good luck! :)

As of this morning, my score is now 140,698!!!

Thank you for the bells, that was such a nice surprise!!

And I'm really happy I could help! I was actually thinking like a week before you posted that I was considering starting a thread for people to post their HHA scores so people that needed help could get tips, so when I saw your thread I was like "Oh hey, it's meant to be, we can all just post here~"
