My name is Esme (duh - it's my username). I'm 24 years old, I live in the US, and I LOVE Animal Crossing! And Pok?mon. And Mario Kart... I've played all of the main Animal Crossing games, except for City Folk. Stella was my best friend in Population Growing, so I was thrilled when the Welcome Amiibo cards were released. I have every card: 400 Amiibo, 50 Welcome Amiibo, and 6 Sanrio! I've actually never played online with anyone else, except for my sister and brother. I'm so happy to be here.

Welcome^^
I fell we are quite alike as I also only recntly joined and never went online with NL before. I went to a few towns of my friends in WW but thats it. WW was my first Ac game so I never tried population growing.
As a person who is afraid of messing up and interacting with stragers, I have to say I?m pleasantly surprised with this community. It?s not as bad to get started as I thought it would be and I haven?t had any bad experienced with people on this site yet. I sometimes went on certain forums, some of which had really impolite comments, as a visitor to look things up. Here, I see dedicated adults that take the game seriously, rather than making mean comments about others.
So based on my limited experience, I think you will enjoy it here.^^
I found it espechially nice that I can now finaly trade with others, which makes some items much much easier to obtain.
Many people here purchase things using TBT (bells) which you get by posting, so just by being active you get enough money to trade for everything you could want (items, villagers, helpers).
There always some people online, so if you ever need assistance, items or advice, there will surely be someone to help you^^

Some things I noticed so far that might help you:
  • edit your profile and add your 3ds friend code, it will show up under your profile picture whenever you post so you don?t have to write it down every time you need it. Pretty much everyone does that. So if you ever trade with someone but they didn?t give you their code: it?s on the sidebar^^
  • You don?t get notified when people quote you. So if you want people to reply (e.g. in a selling-thead), just like their post. they will get a notice about your like under "notifications"
  • If you click on "settings" at the top, you will get a list of threads that you are subscribed to (you made them, manually subscribed or posted in them), so you can easily see whats new and follow a topic
  • everyone has a feedback section in their profile so make sure you leave some when you visited someone, they visited you, you traded etc.

Thank you for the tips, Tomoe Hotaru. I might add my 3DS code later when I become more comfortable here. I'm not sure if I want to play online with people I don't know - yet. I heard a rumor that 3DS online play might not be available for much longer. Hopefully we'll have an Animal Crossing Switch game by then!

Yeah, please only do what you are comfortable with (but remember, your code is literally useless to others as long as you don?t add their code^^). there are always people online who abuse the trust of others so we should never blindly trust users we don?t know. I?m just saying I haven?t had people on this forum cut down trees, steal items/flowers or do anything else that I don?t want, and I certaily feel more secure to let someone in my town who has thousands of posts and tons of positive reviews. So I?m overall gratefull this site offers the chance to rate users, which makes it less likely to have a bad experience.^^
Nintendo still promotes the 3ds/2ds family in a way so I don?t feel that for the next two, three years they would stop online service, espechially since they always have to point out that the switch is not supposed to replace the 3ds (yeah right...)
I still think spring to autumn 2019 is a realistic release date for the switch game, maybe we hear something in that fall direct that supposedly has many new reveals? Nintendo seems to purposefully transfer the good stuff away from e3, so it makes sense that the non-e3 directs could even get to announce the next AC game....

Hello! I hope you are enjoying your time here on the forums!

I loved Mario Kart! I used to be addicted to Mario Kart 8. I preferred battle mode! I was great at battle, and terrible at racing.

Hope you have a great time on belltree and I'm a big fan of Mario Kart and pokemon and other games too.
Enjoy having friends on belltree

Welcome aboard, Esme. You sound like such a sweetheart. A sweetheart with an incredible amount of amiibos.

Let me know if I can help you navigate this place in any way. I've been here since 2005.

Wow, thanks for all the well wishes, everyone!

xSuperMario64x - No, I haven't played that one. Just DS, 7, and 8.

Grawr - Thank you! <3
