Helpp!! house interior glitch :[

I gifted my Raymond a tweed jacket and now suddenly the jacket he displayed doubled!! The jackets are in the same spot just on either side. How do I fix this??

Thanks! I’m so saddend cause Raymond doesn’t have amiibo so I can’t fix it :/

Yeah that's the furniture duplication glitch. It's random. You can try gifting furniture that was in his original house or other furniture of the same category type to replace it.

There's a Google doc with the details but I suggest reading it multiple times to make sure you understand it. It's not straight forward.

Did you Time Travel after gifting him the jacket? This is a reported glitch, and I'm not sure if people locked down the exact reason for it, but most people are saying that the cause might be TTing.

This has happened to me a bunch of times - both with villagers I have adopted from other people and 100% original villagers I got from mystery islands. If you give them more furniture/clothing they will eventually display that instead of the duplicate. Although, my Punchy still has two lava lamps his house... could be worse.
