i have a physical copy of the game, if i buy one on the eshop will i have a 2 town?

Yes, for New Leaf each copy of the game that you own will be a new town. You can have multiple physical copies and/or a digital copy and each one will be separate from the others.

Just gonna add for anyone curious, that you CANNOT have multiple digital version files with different SD cards.... Saving in a new SD card corrupts the original save, which I learned the hard way

But yes like others said, two different physical cartridges are fine, and a digital file can coexist with a physical cartridge
