Go to the top and click "Settings". It's on the top left-hand corner of the screen. Scroll down a bit, and on the left-hand side again, there will be boxes that say "My messages", "My subscriptions", and "My settings". Under "My settings" click "Edit profile". If you want to add a profile picture, under that is "Edit avatar".

If you want a "card thing", someone actually made that for me. You'd have to pay for it, but most charge Bell Tree bells (often abbreviated as tbt or btb) and seeing as you're new, you probably won't have enough. It's a signature though, and you can just list your town information with text until you can afford a signature to be made for you. Or you can make your own, but I can't help you there. I just put text in mine until I found someone who could make me one.

You get bell tree bells from posting. Although if you post just to get bells and spam, not actually contributing to conversation, you may get a warning or be banned. The most amount of bells you can make per post is 10tbt. You can also get them from selling things of high value. Most people I see make a lot of bell tree bells by selling hybrids. 1tbt or 2tbt per flower is the going rate, but if you can sell like 50 at a time, that'll get you good bells. Selling villagers also is a good way, you could just search through the Villager Trading board to see what other people sell theirs for. I've just recently been informed that original (same house, catchphrase, shirt as when they first moved in) villagers go for more than unoriginal villagers. If you can draw digitally that could also get you tbt, although I don't know the details about that because I don't do it. You can look through the Museum Shop found here for examples.
