So I bought ACNL used from game stop so when I started playing I was automatically put into someones town they had already started. This was my first 3DS game so I had no idea about clearing the players data and such and now Im way to far into the town and my home development to start back over which is fine there's not a lot of things the I cant do since im not mayor. My issue is that im trying to get the cafe so im donating fossils and since im donating them as my character and not as the mayor once i hit 50 will i still be able to open that cafe? Of course id have to open it under the mayors profile since its a public works project but will it be available since i didn't donate the fossils as mayor?? I hope this wasnt too confusing.

Hmm, thats an interesting question. I'm not sure as i've never had a pre owned copy of ACNL. I got mine new.

Unfortunately the mayor has to talk to blathers on 14 occasions with donations I believe :c
Just leave a fossil outside their house and let the mayor character trade it in each day

I think the mayor just has to talk to blathers for 14 days. It's not donations just talking is good enough.
If you want to get PWP than you'll need to start playing as the mayor. Unless the person that owned the game already has all the PWP unlocked. Don't think that could have happened since they haven't done the museum yet. Unless they didn't care and just went for PWP.
