Help with some landscaping

Okay so I don't understand why these saplings are dying?

They're far enough away from my house aren't they?

i don't think that's true. i have multiple trees with only one space between them and my house and they grew just fine.

it might be due to them being blocked in by your flowers and paths? i would clear the area around them so they have one space clear on all sides just to get them to day 2, then see if they survive.

EDIT: actually you're right. trees in front of your house need to be two spaces from the house. trees in back like mine can be only one space.

On the front of the house there has to be 2 spaces in between, but on other sides it only has to be one in between if i remember correctly

Yup, I was just about to say this but you beat me to it! You only need one space for the sides of the house too, so only the front requires two spaces. Never understood why, I'd kill to be able to plant bushes that close to the front, it'd look so good.

But yeah, remember to also remove paths around your bush sapling too, including the diagonals. I'm not sure if flowers affect it but I've always removed them anyway, can anyone confirm if flowers kill bushes on the first day?
