I'm starting up a new town and once again i'm aiming to obtain perfect town status.

But to make a perfect town you need to cover it in trees and flowers. Flowers aren't an issue at all cause i love em but trees always get in my way and the leaves always block up what's ahead of me.

Anyway what is the minimal amount of trees required for a perfect town and is there any good way to spread em out?

I just plant fruit trees everywhere since I plan on having gardens and forests anyway. I only walk on my path unless I'm trying to find fossils or the gem rock or shaking trees so trees don't block my way at all. I have a relatively empty town with only 8 pwps and I chuck all my flowers in one corner above the river where nothing can ever happen to them but meh I still got perfect town.

I'll chop some of the trees down after I get my golden watering can though, right now I don't want to ruin anything.

You could just plant a ton of trees everywhere and then just chop down trees to clear the pathways that you follow normally.

I tend to think of my town's layout as being one that has a LOT of trees yet is very easy to navigate... you can visit my dream address if you'd like to check it out to get an idea.

I'll certainly do so when i've got the Dream Suite set up ^3^ Currently have close to no experience with pathing. (edit: was directed at Hana)

Liquefy's FAQ says that points are taken off if you have fewer than 110 trees. I don't know how many points you can lose and still have a perfect town, so I'd go for that as a minimum. Liquefy indicates that the dead perfect fruit trees that have dropped their leaves do count. Perhaps you should plant a lot of perfect fruit trees and shake them until they are leafless? It might make your town a bit eerie, but we are going into fall and the flowers should keep things cheery too:) At least you could see a bit better. Also, I don't think ACNL requires trees to be spread across the town, so setting up orchards in out of the way areas might be your best bet. Good luck!

When I look at my town, I forget I have a lot of trees. But then I think about it and realize I do. I also had perfect town, until I decided to put a bunch of decorations on the floor with objects that are considered trash. XD Anyway, I'm saying I understand how you feel, and here's what I did:

First of all, I lined the entire upper edge (by the train station) with cedar trees. The edges of town need a border as far as I'm concerned, and trees and bushes are perfect for that. It's also out of the way, so you're not constantly dodging them. I have paths everywhere, which people don't like, but it's a lot of open spaces with paths. I hate when people have mazes of bushes and trees and you can't walk anywhere without running into something. XD

Second, I planted at least 3 of each type of fruit tree. Most of the time, I bundled them together in some design. Hard to explain this one, but when they are in little clusters, and most of the time also surrounding specific PWP's, then it's more reasonable, because they are organized, not just in the way.

That's my third tip though, look to see where PWP's or houses are, and see if you can put a tree on each side, just to add a little nature around it, and decorate it that way, also including trees.

And fourth, look at your walkways. If you have paths running between houses or buildings, see if you can put some trees along the walkway. I did this with my perfect trees and town fruit that I wanted to have a lot of, and in moderation it helps also.

OH, and the beach is also a great place for a row of trees along the beach. Although I'm not sure if those trees count towards perfect town. I don't see why they wouldn't.

Last thing, do you want perfect town for a while, or forever? If you just want to get it and go the 2 weeks or whatever to get the golden can, then just plant a bunch of trees, get it done, and later you can chop them down. That's an option, obvious one, but worth mentioning in case you didn't think of it. :)
