help with house placement

so i need some help!! I have a second character with a fully upgraded and mostly furnished house. But... I noticed that I have a very awkward space behind the house that is kind of useless, I could maybe put a random pwp and some trees there but idk.

So basically I'm wondering if I should move the house.
Moving the house would mean that I would loose all my effort with upgrading the house and achieving other things on the character.
The character is barely two months old, so it wouldn't be that bad, but it would still be a lot of work to get it to where I am today..

This is my map. I drew where the two places I'm considering. As you can see it's kind of a big space behind the current house.

This is my house. As you can see it's very close to retail. Retail makes it hard to get to the area behind the house.
Pros of having this place: *I don't have to move it
*It looks good as it is
*not hidden by retail, also not hiding retail

Cons:
*not a lot of space in front of the house
*a lot of awkward space behind it


This is the spot I've marked in orange on the map. It's in the corner and only leaves 1 space behind it. It has a bit of space to the left of it, but it's not enough for a tree
pros: *lots of space in front of house
*not in the way of anything
*would probably look good

cons: *i'll have to move the house
*it is kind of hidden by retail
*really close to border of the map
*makes the space behind retail even more awkward

pros: space both in front of the house and behind it
*doesn't make behind retail, behind house or in front of house too awkward.

*would maybe look weird beign so close to both the retail and the border
*makes it a little hard to get behind the house
*means i'll have to move the house.

soo.. what do you all think? I really need help ;;
I don't really know what I would do with the space in front of the house if I had it, maybe put a streetlight or something idk ;;

I am in a similar situation - I have two alt characters and now I am debating on moving their houses. Each character is 3 or 4 months old, but I don't play as them every day.

If I had that much room around a house and it is not near a river , I would take the time, check their catalog to see if they got something that is not in my main characters catalog, and make the move.

You'll have to decide if the work is worth it.

I think you should go ahead and move it. It will make you feel like you have more space, and you could give the character a really nice front yard. It will take some time to rebuild it, but it might be worth it in the long run.

One of the things I love about New Leaf is most things aren't permanent. My first town went through so many changes before I was completely satisfied. Besides, it's fun to redecorate and try new things.

You should move it. Just take pictures of all the rooms you set up so you can replace it.

maybe behind you could put the water pump PWP and make a little orchid/garden? Or maybe put a lot of bamboo and do the hot spring PWP and make it like a hidden spa.

I give every house in my town--even villagers houses--some kind of back/front yard area made "private" by planting trees/bushes/flowers around it like a fence. Some of these yards are small, but others are gigantic and even include a PWP. I like Kess idea of making it a secret garden/hot spring area.

that actually sounds like a pretty good idea!! i'd obviously rather not move the house so i'll probably try or something like this out ;;

I would say keep the house where it is and make a little park or secret area with the extra space. Seems you already have an idea so that's good. Plus the first image looks pretty nice ^_^
