Trying to get at least one of each color to keep in my flower room. For purple tulip, one source says breed black and pink, another claims red and yellow. Can anyone tell me, from experience with growing, what is the correct way to grow purple tulips?

Also if you don't already plant the flowers diagnally, not side-by-side, and you're more likely to get a hybrid! ♥ good luck!

eh , i just buy 4 from her , 2 for your room , 2 for breeding :3 so i breeding is pretty fun <3

I heard planting them diagonally, and if you have it, fertilizer and a gold watering can help get hybrids faster.

Does planting four next to each other in a square count as planting them diagonally, since that is basically two diagonal pairs intertwined?

Well, I wasn't trying to grow purple tulips, but I have an area in my town with a row of orange tulips, and I occasionally get purple tulips in that area.. so I guess orange x orange = purple as well
