Help with getting villager pics

I have been reading the threads on here in regard to the changes in villager friendship but I still need help. Before the changes i got 2 pics using the wrapped foreign fruit method. Then I stopped getting any pics for a long while. Then I read about the changes and started doing the stacked fruit trick,I got 3 more that way. I have 2 others that are not high enough friendship yet(still giving them wrapped foreign fruit to raise friendship) and 3 that have high enough friendship and won't give me their picture no matter what. After 1.4.1 I read that they changed it back so you could get pics with the wrapped foreign fruit so I tried that again as well as giving them a wrapped stack of 2 foreign fruits. Nothing. I went back to stacked fruit trick and I tried giving iron lamps and still nothing. Do I need to wrap bigger stacks of fruit? I don't know what else to try. Any advice? Thanks

The fruit stack trick does eventually work, it's just that even though ~10% is good odds, that's about 90% odds every day you're not going to get a picture in the mail. It'll happen!

I’ve gotten 2 in the mail from stacked fruit method (kind of a pain tbh so I stopped using that method) and 1 from wrapping 2-stacks of foreign fruit. Honestly seems kind of random. I wasn’t aware of the percentage of getting photos. I have one that was from a random quest before I started doing the stacked fruit.

I'm still doing wrapped iron wall lamps... hope that didn't get nerfed too. I got Tia's pic that way but started 2 other villagers around the same time and haven't got theirs yet.
