Hey, I was just wondering if anyone has any helpful little tips with where to start for decorating towns? I really want to go for the cutesy look, full of flowers and stuff but I really don't know where to start at all. I've recently reset so I don't have many PWP's available yet.

This is my map at the moment (if it helps in any way);

but yeah, I'd really appreciate some help, otherwise I'll just get annoyed with my town and reset again haha.

Do you plan on having a path in your town (or do you already have one)? If so, you could start by lining the paths with flowers, trees or bushes. :)

Here are some other tips I have:

I suggest building a campfire and a hammock near the campsite, when you unlock those PWPs. Adding some cedars around it would look nice too.

You could put a lighthouse near the cliff at the bottom of the map and surround it with orange flowers. Add a windmill too, and surround it with pink flowers (or any flower colour you think matches!).

If you don't have those PWPs available yet, you can mark down the ground by placing patterns where you want to build the future PWPs. That will help you organise your town a bit more easily.

Good luck and have fun!

If you want to use paths, start by laying down the main ones between houses and regular spots (like Re-Tail, the town hall, etc.). Then plant some flowers around those. Don't forget you can always move them later.

I think that it also depends on how natural you want to make your town look. Some people go for things like covering every inch of their town in patterns and flowers while other people like more free space. Some people are also selective with the flowers they keep. If the latter is what you're aiming for, tear down any trees and flowers (you can always sell them at Re-Tail or on here) that you don't want around. You can also have a small orchard space if you want to have trees that don't fit the theme of your town but which are helpful to have around, you can do this by setting down a PWP or a secondary character's house somewhere then surrounding it with the trees you want.

If you want to breed hybrids, like pink flowers, using the beach is really helpful.

If you're not going to plot reset, remember that anything you may do right now, short of PWPs and secondary character houses, is can end up being changed later. For example, I don't plot reset, so I've recently had to change paths after a character moved in.
