I'm working on creating different themes for each of my character houses, based on my RL interests. One thing I love to do is knit, do counted cross-stitch, and other fabric-based crafts. I know there is a loom, a spinning wheel, and a sewing machine you can get from the Nooklings, and I'm going to try my hand at creating some patterns for a basket of yarn or sewing box that I can put on cushions, as well as some mini quilts to hang on the walls.

I was thinking it might be nice to have some fabric around, too. Does anyone know of something that could be adapted to a bolt of fabric? I've been looking over a catalog list online, but nothing is hitting me. If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

I'm still in the gathering/planning stage of this, so if you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Sounds like a cute room :), you could use the towel from April fools day as fabric, when Blanca gives it to you just keep it. I've used it in my town and it looks like a piece of folded silk fabric :).

Gulliver can give you a tapestry when he visits, and of course they're reorderable if you don't have it yet yourself. Katie can give you a sketchbook too, which would be nice to put in there for crafting ideas.

Perhaps you can have some dolls in there too? My grandma likes to make clothes for American Girl dolls as well as for people too, so that's what I thought of first to put in. And of course, the mannequins would be perfect! Use some custom patterns to make them unique. A corkboard would be cute to hang up in there, for your crafting ideas and to pin up patterns.

The Pave set looks like it's got a crocheted blanket thrown over most of the items- that might be cute to use a couple pieces of the furniture set in there.

I am a big fan of patterns, so I pulled a few that came to mind.

I can't really think of anything that would sub as a bolt of fabric. The only thing I can even think of that is the right shape would be the air conditioner... and obviously that won't work, haha.
Mannequin with an in-progress pattern. Maybe something like a dress/shirt that has a fabric measure hanging over the shoulder?

I like this idea. I will add anything else I think of :D

Thank you for all your ideas. This will be for a secondary character's house, so it'll be a little while until I have it expanded and things collected, but I really appreciate the suggestions. I promise that I will post screenshots when I do have it put together.

Awesome idea! I think getting the patchwork set would work pretty well with your theme. You could put cushions with a patchwork table in your sewing room to create a kind of workroom feel.

I've seen some of those patterns before, and I also recommend them!! Your idea sounds really cool. Screenshots here and there would be great so we could help you out further, if you wanted ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)
