Help: Villager Interior Frustration

Hello! so as you progress and build a relationships with your villagers, they'll try to ask you if they could buy something off of your pockets.
knowing the simp that I am towards marshal, I willingly allowed him to buy off the sea bass from my pocket. he was delighted and so was i (at the time)
long story short: it's now displayed in house without me knowing and now i'm trying to figure out ways that could delete/replace it!

the ugly sea bass he displayed is placed next to his doorway; (as seen on the image attached).
so, please pleaseee please help me get rid of this monstrosity and suggest me cute/cool furniture that would best fit his interior aesthetic! thank you!

I'd say maybe another white sofa like the one he already has? He would be forced to get rid of the sea bass if he decides to use it since it looks like theres no where else to put a sofa that wouldn't block the doorway but I'm not sure if theres a guarantee he'll replace it

that area of his original house is empty! the only time it's occupied/replaced is when he's crafting

so there'd be two white sofas? i'd have to go try that! i do believe it will replace the sea bass aquarium but i'm not sure how it'd look having two white sofas in his house ahaha thank you for the suggestion!

What was there before? Gift him exactly the same item he had and he should replace anything with it.

You have to be careful doing this - I had Marshal on my island and he'd replaced his record player with something else I gave to him, which I didn't like.

I gave him the same record player, hoping it would return his house to how it was, but the next day I went to check and he had two identical record players sat next to each other!

Try to give him an Ironwood DiY workbench customized to walnut (color). I believe that's his exact workbench when crafting. Then pray that he will replace the sea bass with it, not the sofa.

Yep, I was horrified!

Although he only even had the two record players out at the same time once or twice - he tended to put other furniture alongside one of them, so it wasn't as bad as I first feared!

That's what happened to my Audie! I accidentally sold a horse mackerel to her and she decided to put it on display without replacing a specific furniture. I ended up sending her away today. Luckily, I didn't jell much with her "jock" personality.

Same thing happened with Ankha. She asked me to buy a flea from my inventory and I said yes cause I love her. Now I see that damn flea in the cup every time I go into her house . We're just doomed

hmm maybe a table could also work. bc w/ 2x1 fish tanks u can put other things on top of them. but tbh even if he doesnt replace it, at least the sea bass kinda matches his interior. it's almost the same shade of green as his lil kettle.

Like others have said - if you gift him back his original furniture, he may replace the sea bass, but it could take a several attempts depending on where he decides to put the new stuff.

I messed up Audie's house with some other gifts but eventually got it back to normal by acquiring all her items and gifting them to her.
