HELP! Spoiler tag questions!

So I know the basics of creating a spoiler tag. However, I am attempting to make a spoiler tag for a very long post on a thread I'm creating, and it keeps doubling/tripling/etc.. Like it suddenly makes each paragraph a spoiler tag instead of the entire post.. Is this a glitch on the site or am I doing something wrong?

I am trying to put the section above the RULES in a spoiler tag. I am putting [spoiler = Everything you need to know] at the top (minus the spaces) and [/ spoiler] at the bottom. When I press preview post, it recodes it so every section/paragraph in the post is inside a spoiler tag, rather than the whole section in ONE spoiler tag. I also tried to put the RULES section and the KEY section in a spoiler tag each, but it did the same thing. I hope I've explained it well enough.. I know it sounds pretty confusing..

so from what i understood you want :

Spoiler: Everything you need to know

RULES:

I've fixed it ^_^ There was some code redundancy due to me switching the editor to WYSIWYG Mode instead of inputting the code manually. Thank you so much for all your help!
