Please see my last post on this page! Should I take that plot even though it's not perfect? Or keep trying for more hours and days?

Plot resetting a villager in the right spot. I know many have but....normally by now they have plotted at least NEAR the spot I want. Its been over 9 hours. I want them in a specific spot, i know its possible to plot in that area, I have had someone live there before.
But why wont Diana just PLOT THERE. I dont want to 'settle' for a totally new spot because then she isnt beside fauna and it makes no sense ;___________;

I mean, I have found plot locations I didnt even KNOW about. Like squeezing in a corner, BEHIND the town hall, IN FRONT OF the town hall, RIGHT IN FRONT OF FAUNA HOME.

Help
what is the longest you have plot reset?

Also, the main reason i feel frustration is that she seems to have a high tendancy to plot in a few spots. Like, 1/5 times she tries to plot in the very top left corner ;_;

Can she not plot where I want? i know someone said they can plot anywhere there is space, i outlined the area i want her in with flowers. Does that mean she cant plot there because of the outline of flowers? Bunnie plotted over them so i thought it was ok ;_;

im just tired. Advice or comments or stories appreciated

Villagers can and might plot right over your flowers. Rudy took out my perfect peach trees and a bunch of my blue violets. Planting trees in the area you don't want them to plot in doesn't help because they just take them out.

As far as I know, there isn't a way to get them to plot in a certain spot, it just takes luck. Are you finding she keeps plotting in similar spots but not where you want? There's more space in your town than you probably think. :\ Whitney moved in right next to Julian in my main town and Diana moved right next to Fuchsia in Forest.

I've heard of people taking a few days to plot reset but it only took me a max of 3 times to get everyone where I wanted in Sowon. I did not plot reset for Forest or Pokka.

;_; i guess i do have more space than I realized. She is EVERYWHERE. I didnt even know someone could plot between Bunnie and Chrissy but you can! I didnt know there was space above genji but there is! She is finding little nooks and crannies, but not the nice pretty space just for her that I laid out for her

also, i started last night, but i think i only put like 3-4 hours into it? tops 4, i just didnt think to count it. ;;

Villagers can plot over or on vegetation (trees, flowers) so the flower outline has nothing to do with it. If I were you, I'd actually take out those flowers and store them somewhere save (your inventory or locker, the beach...) just in case she moves on top of them.

Are there any rocks or ponds where you'd like her to plot? Those things can get in the way, as well as PWPs. It's just a matter of luck, so if she's changing around her location and it's not where you'd like it to be, you can keep trying. You could also put down a PWP on the spot she tends to want to move to (you can remove it later if you don't want it) and she won't plot there.

^^^Yes that's true they won't plot near ponds, rocks, or too close to PWPs, especially the police station (I've heard) so if you have any of those near the spot she will not plot there.

I dont think i can do PWP because she is currently plotting. If I TT she will be plotted right?
I guess I have to stick it out and just keep trying and hope she finally plots there. I didnt realize it would be such an issue. I should have realized ;_;

super random add on but PUDGE is in this campsite while I keep resetting, ive been dying to see him, and I just love his cute fat self and catchphrase. UGHHHH OMG WHY

Just keep trying. As long as there is enough space, she'll eventually move there. I've also read something about maximum of 4 buildings (permanent buildings + villager houses) within an acre of 16x16. Not sure if your chosen spot is already full of buildings in that sense. Papi took me about 3 days to plot reset. I think second worse was Bones. I wanted Papi in the exact spot another villager used to live in, but he only had a 1 in 7 chance of landing anywhere close to that spot. In the end I gave up and let him plot one cell north of the spot and it worked out OK.

Regarding building a temporary PWP to "frame" the spot... TT isn't the issue; the thing is you have to be absolutely sure you counted the correct cells and the PWP project is placed at the optimal spot since you could only place one.

If you really want to build a PWP, think of it like this: the game only cares about what date your save file is on. So let's say your save file is on day A (last time you saved or loaded an existing character), and you're currently plot resetting on day B. This means you're safe to get on any time between 6AM of day A and 5:59AM of day B (I would not recommend loading so close to "day change" at 6AM). You could make a new character to double-check day A's map to make sure everything is still as you left it before you get on mayor to place the PWP.

Also, you should check out this thread for more moral support: http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?163170-Plot-Campsite-Villager-Reset-Cycling-Chat-Thread

Good luck!

Omfg she plotted literally 2 south and 3 west of where I want but I'm not sure if I should just take that option since it's the closest I've EVER gotten ;;

I wanted it to align and match with faunas high placement :(

I plotted Erik with one space between him and a rock on the left and one space between him and a pond on the right, so it can be done. There's also a PWP in the area, but I think it's far enough to not be a concern.

I will admit I was worried for months whether he'd take that spot or not, even though it was where a starter villager's house had been.

If the gem rock happens to spawn right on top of the desired spot, they won't plot there, unfortunately. If that is happening at all, you'll have to go back to your last played day and put flowers or patterns there so the rock can't spawn.

That last plot seems close enough. I'd take it if I were you, unless you really want something built there. It might be forever until you get that close again...

I was thinking the same thing, but I know some people I read will keep going until it's PERFECT and I wasn't sure if I should be so stubborn. But I'll just make myself happy with it being that close ;;
Thank you so much for the reply. Now to get merengue and fang

And I might take in willow, then let her go and take in soliel ;; I can't choose between them but it might be nice to have another small villager to match with marshall

I know some people really go at it. XD I tried to align my villagers and in the end I just gave up. It's just so much time wasted doing something tiring and annoying and not fun that could be spent playing and actually enjoying your town.

I wouldn't have the patience to perfectly align, I try to make villagers plot in spots I know I have seen them plot in before. "Common" plots I guess you can call it. So that way I know it is do-able without it being horrible. So far it's working out at least mostly well :)

I wanted Freya in exact alignment with Skye, but she plotted exactly one step up from where I wanted her. I rejected it, and she plotted in the same place right after that. I just decided to take it. It was a little disappointing, but I'm fine with it now. I've never gone more than about an hour with plot resetting and will usually take a decent backup spot, with one exception where I demanded the villager be in a specific spot. Fortunately, I don't have that many open spaces and he went there fairly quickly.

To answer some things in this thread:

You can plot near ponds and rocks (one of my villagers lives right by a pond) but you need some space and kind of depends on the placement. For example, if you have a pond then some space and a rock and not enough space for a house, they won't plot there. If there's a rock on the place you want, they won't plot there though they can plot NEAR the rock so it'll be a bit skewed relative to where you want her.

As to PWPs, the game save is on the day before, correct? It's not TTing if you load up on that date. I assume you're using the 3DS clock to TT so just TT back to the time of your last save. If you saved around midnight, you can TT to 1 AM or something. Then go place a PWP where you want it to be, I think you can place PWPs even at night... if not, well, that's why I think it's not necessary to TT to midnight before plot resetting.

And if you want to keep trying go ahead, we can't tell you which spot your villager should take. If you don't mind her taking up the spot you're now asking about, then keep it. It's your game and your decision so do what you would feel happier with.

I'd say keep resetting until you're happy with the plot location (if you have enough time and patience). :)
