I found a lovely little man on a Nook Mile Tour, Cousteu! Problem is, he is yellow, and will be next to Graham, my other yellow villager, in the map lineup. I know you can manipulate villager placement based on the date — for example, if Cousteu moves in on a date that’s technically after the other villagers, he’ll be moved down in the lineup.

The plot is sold to Cousteu right now. If I were to save the game and time travel several months into the future, will the game register him as moving in much later, as well?

I hope that’s the case! 😭

I... think, no matter what, he'll be the next to move in?

That being said, you can easily move their homes around if you talk to Tom Nook in Resident Services.

If you travel months into the future with him on an open plot you risk getting a glitched house. I wouldn't risk it

Yah, I've heard of some weird move in glitches, so I really wouldn't risk it.

And, again, even if it costs bells you can move their houses around as much as you want. I'm not sure there's anyone on my island who hasn't moved at least once at this point 😛

I think he's talking about the map lineup, and that can't be changed, but I wouldn't risk it anyway!

Yes, I’m talking about the map lineup 😅 I have some sort of mental thing where I can’t see the same colors next to each other without flipping my lid.

What do you mean by this?

Good news! It worked. I moved the time back and Cousteu’s place in the lineup is right where I want it — after Kevin, my starter. To do this, I time traveled to 3/21/2020, right after Kevin moved in.

I'm glad it worked out you for you!

I'm going to explain the TT glitch anyway just so you know... You might get stuck with the present villager's interior inside the previous villager's exteriors. Pretty nasty glitch
