So after not playing new leaf for like forever. I decided to start over yesterday. So today I embarked on completing the "mayor approval task" or whatever its called. I don't remember ever taking this long to get 100%. I literally did everything on the list of stuff that can up your percentage and I'm only at like 40%. Oh yeah my tent is now a house so that can't be the issue. Any tips on how to get an 100% approval rating as fast as possible? I haven't did this in almost 3 years

Planting PWPs doesn't work, since it the mayor approval thing that allows you to build PWPs XD The development permit.

You should water every flower in town, since watering a flower counts as 1 point. Watering the same flower doesn't work.
Change the town flag.
Change the town tune.
Post a message on the bulletin at the Train Station.
Sell something at Retail, fish up garbage and dispose it at Retail.
Donate something to the museum.
Talk to the villagers and fulfill their requests.

My villagers got really sick of me that first few days because I kept bugging them for requests XD
It took me 2-3 days to get the development permit (I've resetted like 2 weeks ago).

Especially watering the flowers daily helped me get the 100%.

maybe do more errands and send letters? when i started it really didn't take me that long to get 100% approval rate and my town was in a complete mess, i'm really not sure because you've said you've done everything so...

Theoretically can't you plat a flower, water it, pick it up and plant it again until you get 100 points?

Ive figured out the fastest ways are to talk to your villagers for a while & watering the flowers, and selling the fruits & seashells.

Isabelle will give you one for free if you keep asking for advice and doing some of them (like the bug catching/fishing, giving her shell from the beach and planting of fruit)

I remember talking to my villagers a lot and that's about it. I didn't have many tools, so I probably wasn't planting flowers haha
