Help! Plot resetting not working!

I invited Whitney to my town last night through Wisp, and as soon as I woke up twenty minutes ago I started plot resetting. I have not loaded up my mayor at all today, I have only been selecting "New Save File" and I haven't saved any of them, but Whitney's plot has been in the same spot every time I've made a new save file. I'm pretty sure people said when the update came out that you could still plot reset villagers you brought in with amiibo cards, but is that not true? I really don't want Whitney in this spot, she's trampling one of my perfect peach trees.

Keep trying sometimes it takes a while for the spot to move.

I've never had a villager stay in one spot after more than ten attempts to move them before.

Try placing designs on the area you don't want her to move in!
Because of the new update, villagers can't move on paths and designs anymore

I found that out while I was plot resetting. I can't really do that now because, even though she has finally moved, she's still not in a spot I like and I'd need to save my game to keep the designs there.

Make sure to load the game back to the previous day if you want to place the paths.

Yes, as long as you haven't load your mayor save yet on the current day. I do that when I forget to place something or edit my paths.

Yes! I've done this many times. Go back to the day you last played.

Well, it auto-saves the first time you load the mayor's save file on the current/new day, right? If you haven't, the game would think it is still the previous day. You could TT back safely
