Help! Placing Custom Designs by Audie's House

I wanted to place these custom designs in front of Audie's house, like what I saw in this video. However they won't place. What am I doing wrong?

make sure you're using your path tool. You should be able to even put path right under their doorstep! I have pathing under my villagers houses too =)

It doesn't work for some reason on the beach
I did the same thing with Audie's house, put her on the beach and wasn't able to place paths in front of her house and had to compensate. I don't know if it's a bug, but for some reason you can't place paths right in front of their houses on the beach unfortunately

The path that’s supposed to go behind her house isn’t long enough, if you’re trying to get it to match the picture. You need another space back. Also notice how that picture is angled juuuust right to hide the parts that don’t look right (corners touching the house) with objects, it will probably look weird even if you nail it because the original has Tinder angles
