Help me with Time Travel / TT!

As I've said, a couple of times now.

"I wasn't pinged at all, as I said.
I think one of the days I was TT'g between, was an event."

I've also moved out quite a few villagers.

I've been playing AC since 2005.

I simply wanted clarification on the deny being ignoring, or talking them out of moving.

Denying can mean ignoring. ^_^

i'd like to first apologize if i offended you; i was just trying to break down the method into steps to maybe make it easier to understand, if you happened to be confused. so, sorry if i did make you uncomfortable or upset you. idk, tone is hard to read online so if you weren't actually offended, just ignore this bit.

(if we're flexing our life stats, i've been playing since 2002, when the original gamecube game first came out, lol. i know people who have been playing for an equal amount of time & don't know how the inner workings of any of the games function. so length of service to the franchise is somewhat irrelevant).

it sounds like you may have fundamentally missed the requirements of "the method" (some know it as the hiatus method, as seen here).

some snippets from the guide...

- Before you go on hiatus, deny a villager’s request to move.

- Most importantly: Take note of the date you last saved/quit your game.

COMING BACK FROM HIATUS - DO NOT LOAD YOUR GAME!
- Change “Today’s Date” so that it matches the last date that you played.

A tip from stalk-market: “For those not sure when you last played, you can look in your activity log and check your software library. When you click on New Leaf it’ll say when you last played!”

- Load your ACNL game.

following this exactly, no one should have moved. it sounds like you didn't deny a moving ping before you TTed, resulting in the loss of your villager.

again, i'm just trying to clarify for you so next time you can utilize this method to your advantage. it's super useful and really easy, once you get the hang of it.

this thread is getting a little derailed at this point, though we ARE talking about tt. so if you'd like more info i'd be happy to take this to pm or a separate thread.

I'm not offended. ^_^

I'm stating what happened in my game.

I talked a villager out of moving.

I went forward a day, and was informed that Muffy was leaving.

I've already explained why I think I wasn't pinged, and that is because it was an event day.

No need to explain anything to me, I know how it works.

I just didn't want the thread starter making a mistake, and wanted to let them know that they won't ping on event days.

Over & out now. ^_^

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but

1. If you denied a ping on an event day, how are you saying that there are no pings on event days?
2. Moves don't work like that. Even if she pinged the day before the event, villagers don't spontaneously decide to move out the very next day. They give you at least 5 days before they move out. Even if this was before WA, they don't move before 5 days.
3. If you talked a villager out of moving after a ping, you must have forgotten to save because moving quite literally doesn't work like that.
4. If you deny a mover to move via ping and then you save the game, that villager will not move. Ever. Until they ask again. Once you deny it, the game sets it in stone. HOWEVER, if you do quit without saving, the villager will still move out on the day they were intending to move anyway.

I have personal experience with getting a rumor on an event day and no ping. It was rumored on one of my April Fools Days that Chow was moving out. I tried to get him to ping me for an hour, and he wouldn't. I assumed he wouldn't ping me since it was an event day. I time traveled 6 days (the day before he would have moved) to see if there was still a rumor, and as soon as I saw him, he pinged me. He ended up changing his mind and i exited the game, reloaded it, and went forward that last day. He was in boxes.
If you deny them, they will not move. However if you never deny them, they will move on the day they intended to.

Well, for one, I never said I talked a villager out of moving on an event day.

I said I talked a villager out of moving, then TT'd forward, and was informed that Muffy was moving.

No notice.
No ping.

I said one of the two days I was TT'g between must have been an event day, and that is why Muffy didn't ping me.

Seriously, that's it for me.

I have explained in the simplest terms what happened to me.

I had to post this, as it just happened.

I wanted to order an item from a different amiibo than I had already scanned for the day, so I TT'd to tomorrow.

Freya pinged to move and I talked her out of it.

I did what I came to do, saved and quit, then came back to today - where Wolfgang immediately pinged to move.

That's one day forward, Freya pinged, then one day back, with Wolfgang pinging.

It doesn't follow a pattern.
It is random, so be careful.
