As I've said, a couple of times now.
"I wasn't pinged at all, as I said.
I think one of the days I was TT'g between, was an event."
I've also moved out quite a few villagers.
I've been playing AC since 2005.

I simply wanted clarification on the deny being ignoring, or talking them out of moving.
Denying can mean ignoring. ^_^
i'd like to first apologize if i offended you; i was just trying to break down the method into steps to maybe make it easier to understand, if you happened to be confused. so, sorry if i did make you uncomfortable or upset you. idk, tone is hard to read online so if you weren't actually offended, just ignore this bit.
(if we're flexing our life stats, i've been playing since 2002, when the original gamecube game first came out, lol. i know people who have been playing for an equal amount of time & don't know how the inner workings of any of the games function. so length of service to the franchise is somewhat irrelevant).
it sounds like you may have fundamentally missed the requirements of "the method" (some know it as the hiatus method, as seen here).
some snippets from the guide...
- Before you go on hiatus, deny a villager’s request to move.
- Most importantly: Take note of the date you last saved/quit your game.
COMING BACK FROM HIATUS - DO NOT LOAD YOUR GAME!
- Change “Today’s Date” so that it matches the last date that you played.
A tip from stalk-market: “For those not sure when you last played, you can look in your activity log and check your software library. When you click on New Leaf it’ll say when you last played!”
- Load your ACNL game.
following this exactly, no one should have moved. it sounds like you didn't deny a moving ping before you TTed, resulting in the loss of your villager.
again, i'm just trying to clarify for you so next time you can utilize this method to your advantage. it's super useful and really easy, once you get the hang of it.
this thread is getting a little derailed at this point, though we ARE talking about tt. so if you'd like more info i'd be happy to take this to pm or a separate thread.
