Help me get rid of Keaton!

When I first started Animal Crossing, a tacky neon blue eagle with a house that looked like the set of a Disney Channel beach movie moved to town... He pinged THREE TIMES before he moved out for good but after that, I thought I was rid of him...

I had been holding Yuka in boxes for someone for a few days, so I am now time travelling back to the correct date, January 3rd, doing plot reset/campsite reset tricks every day until then. Right now in my game it is after 6am on January 2nd. I have plot reset twice and Keaton's plot keeps appearing... Is there ANY WAY I can get rid of him for sure? I don't want him in my town again...

I have not yet loaded the game with my mayor.

TT back (using the 3DS clock) to when Keaton's plot wasn't there. So I believe that would be January second for you. Load up the game with a new character just to be safe, but once you know there's not a Keaton plot, go ahead and load up your mayor. Then have your mayor go to someone else's town and invite a different villager in. It should bump Keaton out and make the new villager move in instead.

Did you say you have not load up your mayor yet?

If so, then don't worry - Keaton's plot is probably just randomly showing up twice in a row. I believe the random generating aspects of the game is coded such that on certain days, certain sets of villagers tend to show up more often than others.

Just keep at it, and as long as you don't load the game as your mayor, nothing is permanent and Keaton won't ever be in your town again

Yes! Just move your 3DS clock backwards one day.
So if your clock is on January 3rd, set it to January 2nd. Then it should be one day earlier in the game too :3

No, I definitely picked up Keaton from a void; I just plot reset a third time and Keaton's plot is still there.

I also don't want to risk TTing when I've never used the 3DS clock before so I'll just save the game and try to cycle him out.... Thanks everyone for your help though.

Thank you, I just picked up Pashmina to replace him and I am plot resetting her now!

Also I don't think it was your fault, Sarah... You haven't been to my town and I haven't been to yours so it must have been from someone I traded with. But it's all okay now so that's what matters!

This trick will probably change voided unwanted villagers coming into towns FOREVER!

The only problem is you have to load up with a new character first for it to work. So if someone loads up their mayor and then finds an unwanted plot, there's still nothing they can do ;-;
But it's helpful for when you know there is an unwanted plot or you're worried there's going to be one! ^o^

I think Dewy meant that on the day you find an unwanted villager, you have to have loaded on a new character first to be able to use the 3DS clock trick. If you loaded it on your mayor, you cannot use the 3DS clock trick(I think!).
