Help me get pinged :<

Long story short, because a TT incident I just discovered that Shep wants to move. This was told to me on shamrock day, and I've adjusted my D's to this date, but for some reason he doesn't seem to ping me nor my brothers character. I've already tried the diving technique, but it's not working :C
Do you guys have any tips for getting pinged? I don't really want to adjust the day for today, because it could happen that Shep decided to move exactly today :C

This happens to me, I found out through my snooty villager who's moving and sometimes they don't ping.
Well, you can first:
1) Make sure you've already talked to him
2) Save and quit your game
3) Turn on game again
4) Make sure he's outside, and go towards him

He should ping you from there This method works for me.

I would keep changing the time from PM to AM to give yourself more time for him to ping you. I find that the diving trick works if you wait about 10 minutes.

Also, if one villager already pinged you - then another villager won't ping you for awhile.

When it comes to pings the "diving method" never did me much good. Well, the pings are never for anything important. Instead, I ditch the diving but still get rid of all items in my pockets, including items within envelopes (which villagers can still see). I remove all bells, and fill my pockets with flowers. When I don't get a ping, I enter houses and other structures, then roam the town again for a ping. (If memory serves, you can also close your 3DS for the same effect.) I've been getting plenty of pings this way, especially for public work projects, and just yesterday my most stubborn villager ran up to me at the station when I returned from another town: he pinged me to move.

Not sure if this does good for your case, though.
