So, about a month ago after receiving Mereunge, I had to plot reset for her, and of course, I got bored. So I ended up putting the game down for a REALLY long time. Now I want to get back into it because my birthday is in exactly 7 days, and I have to plot reset for Mereunge and then time travel to the correct date so I can celebrate my birthday on time in ACNL, because I don't want to celebrate my birthday late.
The problem is I don't know how I can get back into it. I tried the other day and I did like 5 resets and I got bored and put the game back down. And I'll probably end up doing that again. It's just so boring, tiring and frustrating.
This isn't the first time I put the game down for a while because of not wanting to plot reset. I did it with Marshal too.
I really want to get into the game in time for my birthday, but I just hate plot resetting. I keep thinking about how much I miss the game, but I just can't pick it back up. I've tried all the plot resetting tips and tricks but I just can't, I absolutely hate it.
Help?

choosing where merengue moves in right? For me the plot setting is worth it because I want my town designed perfectly pwps in the right place, villagers home all easy to access & in a neat row!

Im not sure why it would take you long for merengue to set her plot where you want her to...

Does your town have all the pwps you want built and covered with greenry (trees bushes and flowers?)? If you just have spaces on the ground for the villager to move in, it shouldnt take very long. But if you have a lot of space in town and you want her to move in a specific location then thats why its taking a long time.

Well you really want to play and celebrate your birthday so you have no choice put to go through plot setting merengue. Dont worry other people take hours and days to villager plot set even though its hella boring. We all go through it, me as well! Once you plot set then you will be happy, its just a matter of doing it! You are lucky to only plot set merengue. I plot setted all 10 of my villagers and just barely finished! You can do it!!! ^^

From what you wrote, if you really hate it then it seems like you cant ever play the game again though.

Also, you dont need to plot set hours on end. when you get tired, just stop and do something else and then return to plot setting again. Repeat this process until Merengue moves into where you want!

If you really are desparate, you can just hack the game and place merengue wherever you want. Thats probably the easiest way but most people dont want to do it. Or you can just not care where Merengue moves or settle for a second best spot in the town.

hope this helped and i wish that you do end up getting back to playing acnl! I love this game!

I don't know exactly about what your goals are, so you might be making it harder on yourself than you have to, but I can't quite say that. Plot Resetting sucks. Oh, well.

If you need someone to vent at/commiserate with, I can help with that! Just drop me a line where you scream, and maybe it'll make it go quicker?

Sometimes the will is not there. I totally understand.

But if you want a party on your birthday, it is time to plot reset. Get her plotted. Maybe it isn't the absolute perfect 3x3 spot, but you can probably find the next best place. And maybe that place will inspire a totally different PWP plan.

Two of my move ins recently gave me nightmares about plot resetting. I finally let it happen, and now I am happier with my map than I was before.

Also - have you turned off your DS completely before turning the power back on every 6 times or so? It truly re-randomizes where the plots will go. I have found it to be extremely effective in getting the plots in different places.

Happy Early Birthday - please post when you get her plotted and we'll all celebrate for you!

Merengue is the perfect birthday present villager to have! Good luck!

If plot resetting is taking you so long, the best advice I can give is to just settle for a decent spot that you think can make work. I recently had to go through this with Punchy. After a few resets, he placed his house close enough to the area I wanted it in. It was about three spaces off, though. I decided in the end to just keep him there, because who knows how long it would take for him to move it where I actually wanted? Just make sure that wherever you chose is somewhere you will like or that isn't a huge bother. that way you can enjoy her in your town, without being frustrated about her house.

Thanks for the advice guys. I can't hack because I updated my DS before hacking was a thing, undortunetly.
I tend to scrap the specific 3x3 placement after a while and just choose a decent spot, like now.

Mereunge ended up going where my geyser was gonna be, but I think this is a really nice spot for her! It's near my house, which is nice as both of our homes are pink.

And I'll likely be changing around the area where her home is. Currently it's sort of zenish with while flowers and a hot spring, but I'm gonna change it to fit her home more. Now I can get back in the game, so happy.

One question. If someone is moving in, does that mean no one is moving and I can change the day without worrying about that?

Are you plot resetting without doing anything else at the same time?

Whenever I start a new game or am checking out the day when I'm expecting a new villager, I always play episodes of a show I like that I've seen before to pass the time. It definitely takes a lot longer to find the plot or villager or whatever, but at least I am not bored while I reset over and over, you know?

Regarding the whole worrying if a villager is moving out while moving in...I never had a problem with this unless the time traveler rumour was going around. If that rumour is indeed going around, very much check around.

I reccomend doing something else along with plot resetting, like watching videos, movies or listening to music. It makes the process more fun . I wish you great luck on plot resetting with Merengue and have a happy birthday!

P.S I plot resettled Beau for nearly two weeks (excluding sleeping, school and other stuff). It was really tiring and boring, so I watched videos along with plot resetting :D

Come back in the game Diana, so we can hang out again!! :)
I don't do plot resetting.. I like it when a house appears randomly so I can redecorate everything a bit :D Risky but fun :)
