Help? I think I messed up?!

Okay, so I went into my Ds setting to edit my time and date and for some reason my date on my Ds was 2011 so I reset it to 2015. Me being stupid forgot that the time on my DS is connected to Animal crossing. So when I loaded my game up Isabelle tells me that it's March 4th 2020...

Is there anyway to fix this?

If you TT back to the last day that you played in-game, you should be fine. I think.

Uh-oh, that sounds bad. I did that once and I think you will just have to hope things didn't go terribly wrong while you were gone. Why the huge skip to 2020, I have no idea. You are going to have to reset your AC clock and just hope for the best. I feel for you big time because it's a total bummer.

It's 2020 because you TT'd four years forward. I'm assuming you were in 2016 previously, since that's the only way it would really make sense as to why it's 2020.

To further explain it:
Say your DS clock says it's June 1st, and your Animal Crossing clock says it's June 2nd.
Your Animal Crossing clock thinks that the DS clock and it are the same time, so it goes with it to what it thinks is the correct time.
So if you set your DS to June 2nd, your Animal Crossing would say it's June 3rd, because it thinks that's what you set the time to on the DS.
I hope that made sense.

Yeah this. I think it's too late now but next time, just tell Isabelle to change the time back to the date you were on, no big deal. The game doesn't register time change until you actually load up your town.
