GUYS HELP.. I'm so unsure, all of a sudden I feel like starting fresh and resetting even though I've worked so hard and spent so much time on my town I feel like starting new, but I don't know I feel so unsatisfied with my town, I see other peoples towns and theirs looks so pretty and everything. Idk can people with experience in resetting give me some Pros and Cons of doing so. > _ <
Thanks

But does it seem like a waste of time? I've had my game for about 1 1/2 years :S

Post a DA. Even though I can't access DAs on my 3DS atm I'm sure others can help you. Maybe you should do a relandscaping. What is it, specifically, you don't like?

If you really dislike your town and feel as though you really would like to restart and start new then go ahead. But with the long period you've had your game if it was me I'd probably be more than a bit attached to my town. Maybe set some goals to how you'd like your town to change and do some editing to your town. If you feel like you wouldn't be able to ever make it to your liking then I guess you could restart and hope your new town will be something you'll really like.

I'm not exactly sure what I don't like, I can't pin point it, I think it's my town layout.. So I guess I would have to reset it.. I think it's the buildings as well :/
I really don't like the name either :/

I got my first town on August 8th last year, and I'm also thinking of resetting but I couldn't risk it ;~;
Which is probably why I got a second copy of the game to be honest.

Uhhh so here's your Pros and Cons

Pros
- New layout, fresh start
- Able to make town look much neater
- Have a clearer decision on what to do with your new landscape
- You already know what you are doing
- If a Dreamie accidentally moved out in your old town, then you can get them back without having to do the 16 villager cycle in your new town
- You'll know about plot resetting, so you can get villagers into a fairly good place without regretting it later
- A clearer idea of what to do compared to when you first get the game and didn't know about resetting
- When you first get the campsite, you can do this method where you go back and forth and there will always be a camper in there. You can basically reset the campsite until you get the villager you want but you can only do this once

Cons
- Lose your old town, which is probably filled with tons of memories and experiences
- Villagers/Dreamies will be gone, but if you want them back you can ask someone to hold them for you
- You'd have to transfer any items/clothes/Bells you want to keep into your new town (get someone to hold them temporarily)
- PWPs will have to be requested again
- T&T, GracieGrace, Shampoodle and other shops will have to be unlocked again
- Repay your whole debt to Tom Nook
- Badges will be gone, and the bug/fish encyclopedia will have to be completed again
- You may regret it :c

Personally, I would love to reset my first town but I can't because I wouldn't be bothered to get everything again. I don't mind working with Novem (my second town), but I'm pretty sure that I will have a huge hiatus for a few weeks if I was to reset and replan my first town. Plus, I have most of my badges unlocked, tons of items and lots of Bells to transfer. I already transferred ~50 million to my second town and it took roughly half an hour or so. But I would also like to reset due to the fact that I lost Chrissy, one of my Dreamies in March and I never bothered to touch my first game again.

If it's your map or river, go ahead. If it's how you placed your paths, relandscape it. Be sure to get a holder for your villagers that you want to keep.

I had a similar problem recently. I've had my town since the NA launch day, and I was getting bored. My town was very tightly controlled; I had paths, I had a ton of dreamies, I reset-placed all their houses, I had maxed out my house, museum (besides a few artworks), done all the holidays, etc. I would recommend a "soft reset" of sorts before you decide to delete.

I ripped up almost all my PWPs, kicked up all my paths, let a few villagers randomly move in/out, and cut down a TON of trees and flowers. I'm still slowly re-landscaping and rebuilding, but it feels so fresh. I have three new villagers in weird spots that gave me a planning challenge, and I ended up with like 1/4 of my map completely empty for building. Its surprising how much changing the topography of the town did, and I didn't lose a year and a half of items and work, or my favorite villagers.

Depends how picky you are when it comes to a new map. Reset a few days ago and haven't found one I liked much yet.

I know how you feel, don't worry! I always end up resetting my towns because I have a horrible habit of comparing them to other people who have had their towns for months longer. I like fresh starts though, so I don't really regret any of my resets other than my first one. ; v ;

If I were you, I would go for it! If you want to, you can always have someone hold any important items for you. You could always get another copy of the game too, and maybe try getting a town on that copy, just in case you happen to regret anything in the future! ?・ᴗ・`

Best of luck!~ ( ?∀`)

Only reset if there's something you absolutely hate that cannot be changed at all, like the location of your house, permanent PWPs, or buildings such as Re-Tail and the Town Hall. Everything else, even villager houses, can be swapped. Yes, you might have to cycle 16, but it might be worth it if you never plot reset before and you'd like to move all your villagers. Much faster to just do them all. Plus, if that dream villager landed too close to a bridge you wanted to revamp, there's your chance. Landscaping is hard. It takes time and money. But in the end, if you like everything else, why reset? Trees can be whacked, bushes uprooted, flowers sold or trampled (especially easy if you invite others over for the massacre). YOU. CAN. DO. IT.

Pretty much what everyone else is saying but don't compare yourself to others! I think if you compare your town to someone else's you will never be satisfied and the game will stop being fun >.>. Good luck though!
