Help Figuring Out Villager Price?

I searched but still couldn't figure out where else to ask this!

Ankha appeared at my campsite randomly this week, so I invited her to move to my island purely for profit's sake (she's not my type, but I'm so broke and desperately need bells )...however, I'm not able to find out how much she is actually worth. The only recent threads where she was sold were in exchange for anywhere between 25-50 NMT. But how does that convert to bells?

Thank you, that gives me SOMETHING to go on at least. Why is our current economy so reliant on NMT anyway?

I don't precisely know, but my guess would be: because time-traveling doesn't give you much of an advantage in direct NMT acquisition via in-game mechanics, but optimizing the villager economy requires a ton of NMTs to island-hop for valuable villagers, therefore NMTs tend to be the currency of choice for the people doing the selling.

People were duping royal crowns at the beginning which made bells really easy to come by for some. You can also just carry a lot more NMT than bells when you do the conversion.
