It's just keeping on using fertilizer and watering every day for me, I had to try foreverrrr to get some of my hybrids. I think it took me a week or 2 before I started having luck with blue pansies. For some other ones I just got impatient and bought flowers from people in the TBT Marketplace on here, stupid blue roses won't come in for me!!

*make sure they are placed correctly (usually white and yellow flowers can't breed, use a guide to see what combinations work)
*water every day
* if you have it make sure to bury fertilizer next to the flowers
* have other open space in your town for fossils and rocks to spawn (or just breed on your beach)
* make sure you don't have to many other flowers that can breed. if you're trying to get pink roses make sure that there aren't a lot of non roses thar can breed, since you can only get a few hybrids a day
*have beautiful ordiance (you still need to water the flowers for them to breed better)
*have patience!! hybrids can take a lot of time
if you really struggle breeding i think you should buy some hybrids off the forums to get yourself started. good luck!!

Fertiliser just gives you a better chance of flowers breeding! It is completely optional because it is expensive
I know. The only thing that I keep on getting are the hybrid white and red roses. >.< and most of my hybrids came from tbt lmaoo. Its frustrating me.
Some hybrids are definitely harder than others (as people have said, that blue rose). But I've never really had difficulties besides that.
Say I wanted a pink rose, I'd just do this: (X = white, x = red, o = fertilizer or jacob's ladder)

what flowers are you trying to breed? My go to guide is this one here
I think it could also be because you have so many reds, you're getting a higher chance of two reds breeding to give you more red flowers. try doing just one redxwhite until you get 2 of your desired hybrid color, then breed and expand your hybrid garden using only the color you want. I hope I'm not repeating too much info from other people and I hope I help ^.^ good luck!

Hybrids are tricky...
Here's my advice:
-Set your town to have a beautiful ordinance. You have a much better likelihood of flowers not withering, plus the villagers plant new flowers and water them.
-Get *at least* the silver watering can. I was able to get every hybrid except blue roses with the silver watering can. Since obtaining the golden can, I notice that there are more flowers, but not necessarily more hybrids.
-Granted this was all done without trying to get hybrids, but making sure that two of the same flower are next to each other and that there is lots of space around them, I had tons of flowers breeding every day and all the time.
-Fertilizer definitely helps, but again, aside from blue roses, I was able to breed everything else long before I unlocked that option (or the golden watering can for that matter).

First have beautiful town ordnance on.
I have always found doing them diagonally with alternating red white red or checkered board pattern helps immensely, also jacobs ladders to help to encourage breeding but not a requirement. so say you are trying to make pink roses this is what I would do, do a diagonal line of red, white, red. and you will get a better chance of having a pink show up, if a red or white show up remove it to another area. make sure you water ONLY the ones you trying to breed each day. that way it will concentrate the hybrid breeding factor only on those flowers. If you visit my Caprica Dream address It is a FULL BLOWN hybrid town with TONS of hybrids. SO I speak from experience. once you get some hybrids in the next step is to try this trick
