Hi all! I've spent a fair amount of time lurking on Animal Crossing-specific forums (like this one) over the years, but I've never actually joined one. After pulling the trigger on an Animal Crossing: New Horizons preorder last night, I decided it might be nice to get involved in an Animal Crossing-centric community, rather than looking for AC-specific threads or subforums on more generalized Nintendo websites, so here I am!
I first got into AC back in the fall of 2002, when I read a preview article about the GameCube game in my first or second-ever issue of Nintendo Power. Although I was skeptical to begin with, I quickly fell in love with the series, and devoted many hours to the game across a number of towns. I took a bit of an AC hiatus after the release of City Folk (I became overly frustrated with the grass wear mechanic), and again a little while after starting ACNL (scheduling issues made it hard for me to find time to play while my animals were awake and stores were open), but I started a new ACNL town last spring, and I've been playing it regularly ever since.
I'm hoping to find the time to juggle both my newer ACNL town and my upcoming ACNH town once the Switch game releases in March. In the meantime, I'm excited to share my enthusiasm for the series with everyone else on these forums, and perhaps meet some new friends to play the games with.
