It’s way different than ac it’s almost like a rpg. There is tons of quests and an open world. I liked it for a bit at first but got burnt out fast just way to much thrown at you.

Just saw this forum. I have HKIA! But I have it on steam. Can steam users play with people who have it on the switch?
I adore the game, but I honestly felt very lost playing it. Everyone around me has cozy vibes and set ups and flowers and I'm like "I DON'T UNDERSTAND?" lol Everyone told me it was super similar to AC but I don't see the connection. I'd love to play again... so if anyone wants to play and we can? Let me know! I'll figure out how to add people lol

I don’t think it’s cross play like that I too have it on steam. One of my biggest issues is it seems to really push playing with others and I’m more of a “lone wolf “ when it comes to games

Hopping back in to say I am obsessed with this game wow, it seems to have a lot of negative reviews but I just adore it! So much so that I turned my avatar into a fursona

Curious, where do you see the negative reviews? On steam it's "Very Positive" so I'm wondering does it perform badly on the switch?? I was thinking of getting a copy on there :3

I watched several YouTube videos, not really read anything on Steam or anything text-based! Really just people who the game wasn't for them : , D I haven't had any issues on Switch but I'm not someone who cares much about game performance / pays attention to it haha
Oh that's fair. One of the girls I play with in my lil group got it and wasn't a fan either. I really WANT to like the game, i Just feel like half the time I have no idea what I'm doing lol

I still play HKIA regularly. I'm up for multiplayer with anyone if you are also playing the Steam version. I can confirm there is no crossplay in this game, unfortunately.
I've seen most of what the game has to offer, so feel free to ask any questions!
It does overwhelm you with quests at first but after awhile it gets much more manageable. At this point I'm mostly just waiting on the visitor related ones. The dailys are quick and easy if you don't have time for the big quests.

I probably will pick your brain if that's okay!!! I've started the game and mostly I spent time just running around trying to do whatever the game tells me. But I can't really figure out exactly what I'm supposed to BE doing? Everyone else seems to have such a handle on the game and I'm over here feeling like I'm just drooling all over my keyboard lol

Have you enabled the feature that guides you where to go? You might have just run out of quests you can do for this day

Sure we can do that sometime. I'm usually on more evening or later my time but maybe earlier depending. I don't think you have to be Steam friends to play HKIA online but you can feel free to add me if you'd like, I'll dm you my profile. We need to share a code that only lasts a short time. Mostly it's just for fun but you can also earn beads to exchange for event furnitures.
A lot of early game is more resource gathering, increasing friendship levels, and quests to unlock different things. Yeah the game for the most part does guide you on many of the things you need to do. When you get the right furnitures, decorating cabins for new visitors is also fun. In general the game is pretty open ended though, so you can choose the order of things you like, you could explore and do puzzle rooms, collect fish/critters, or work on flower breeding for example. There are also different monthly events with their own rewards.
