Nice to meet you all, I'm Nobby ^^ Here's my lengthy background that no one cares about
I first played AC on GC and didn't touch the series again until NL's release. I was instantly hooked: the updated art style (esp for MC), being able to customize an entire village, the infinite possibilities of QR - I put about 300hrs into it.
When I last played NL (prior to Welcome amiibo), I quit because I was working on unlocking more QR slots on a 2nd character, but then Hamlet (my favorite villager and an original in my town) moved out without warning; some random mouse took his spot soon after. Worst of all, the mouse moved onto my main path and it was impossible to reroute it around her house. I didn't feel like playing anymore knowing that villagers would keep ruining my paths and town layout.
HHD came along and I skipped it, not liking being forced to wear clothing I hate (I'm petty, what can I say). I figured I was done with AC until the next major iteration released. Well, I randomly picked up ACPC in January and was immediately hooked. It's not that the game is amazing, but it's a mobile game I could play fully without paying, and it scratched the AC itch in so many right places - enough to have me look back into NL. The amiibo update addressed essentially every major complaint I had about the original.
When my town was appraised for 17mil, I sold it (a little hurt knowing that all my seasonal and limited time stuff was gone) and chose a completely different playstyle. On my first go, I went along with the game, improvising as I haphazardly placed PWP's, houses, paths. It worked and was a great way to experience all the countless surprises the game offers.
But this time, I'm going in with a plan from the beginning. I covered my whole village with paths. My villagers are moving into the empty slots, and I've managed to keep and kick out villagers as wanted. Over 5 years later, NL has me addicted all over again. With 40 QR slots now unlocked, I can finally work on my dream village that never was completed.
My village is a mess and not worth visiting, but if anyone wants to play together, and invite me to check out their house/village, I would love to! I'm very respectful of others' villages and will not run over unpathed areas, flowers, etc. I have 0 frenz ; ;
