<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Part 1</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">It all started the beautiful sunny Friday morning...
Mom: Happy birthday, darling!!
It way Lyra's 10th birthday, meaning, she could get her very own Pokemon! She rushed to Professor Elm's lab, with her friend, Ethan, and her enemy, Red, who had both already turned 10 but hadn't got their Pokemon, yet.
Elm: Well, we'll let the birthday girl chose first shall we?'
Professor Elm pressed a button and all of a sudden, 3 Pokeballs popped up out of nowhere. Elm let the 3 Pokemon out. Chikorita, Cyndaquil. and Totodile.
Elm: Which one shall you choose? Chikorita - the grass type, Cyndaquil - the fire type, or Totodile - the water type?
Lyra was a bit uncertain as to what Pokemon she should chose... She eventually bent down to a pokemon and gently patted it on the head.
Lyra: I'll take this one.
Professor Elm got out the Pokemon's Pokeball and sent it back. He then handed the Pokeball to Lyra.
Elm: Take good care of this Totodile
Red, wanting to show his strength to Lyra, chose Chikorita since it would be strong against a water type, and Ethan got t\he left over Cyndaquil.
All 3: Thank you Professor Elm
They all ran out of the Lab and let their Pokemon out to walk along side them.

Lyra began to start her journey, her mom gave her a PokeGear, and Professor Elm gave her a Pokedex and some Pokeballs, as well as his phone number.
Lyra walked through Route 29 and reached Cherrygrove City.
Mystery Man: Wait!! My name is Mr. Pokemon Professor Elm wanted me to give you this Pokemon egg, take good care of it now.
Mr. Pokemon ran off. Lyra continued her journey through to Violet City, where she was to battle the Gym Leader, Faulkner.</div>

I say nay. train a bunch of fresh pokemon, learn about EV training and IV breeding, and get into the battle tower.

that'll last you a while.

unless heartgold is awful and you have no attachment to the game, in which case, why not.

Anyway, I started again, have Crockanaw, Butterfree and Slowpoke all level 20, I was gonna story write my GamePlay?? Should I?

Its your choice whether or not you'll story write it, and whether or not you will keep it updated. Whenever I do a little project like this I always start well, but halfway through I just stop keeping track.

^100% of the way.

No offence but you'll probably end up doing that. Loads of people do, and I did. Prime example right here:

My thread. Started strong, then just couldn't be assed to follow it up.

Yes. Its Always Fun To Start Fresh Again
You realize you don't have to capitalize every single word in that sentence, right?

On topic: Up to you really.

Well, if you have alot of Pokemon you don't wanna give up, I suggest transfering them to another game first. But if you can't do that, then I say no.

Won't last.

Anyway, I'm gonna start writing it later on todays.

But I'm not going in to heaps of detail and I'll change it from the game slightly.

Up next, Lyra catches a Pokemon!!</div>

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Part 2</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">Lyra reached Violet City, she saw the Pokemon Gym and knocked on the door. No answer... A nice old lady came running up towards her and told her that Faulkner was out training, and she should go visit Sprout Tower and defeat the elder monk. However, it was rather late and Lyra wanted to take a rest. She stopped off at the Pokemon center and spent the night there. Lyra awoke the next morning and went outside to play with her Totodile. They chases each other for ages, until Totodile accidently hit a tree and a Caterpie fell out. Caterpie attacked Lyra and her Totodile, but Lyra managed to tire it out and throw a Pokeball at it. Lyra had caught a Caterpie. She put her Totodile back inside it's Pokeball, and sent out her Caterpie, she walked with her Caterpie to Sprout Tower where a monk challenged her to a battle, she accepted and used her Caterpie, Caterpie won the battle, except it wasn't a Caterpie anymore, it was a Metapod! Her and Metapod walked up to the very top of Sprout Tower, where they saw the Elder Monk. Red was there and had already defeated him, but the Elder mouthed him off about how he treats his Pokemon. Lyra was a bit scared that she wasn't treating her Pokemon fairly... Though she built up the courage and challenged the Monk to a battle. She sent out Totodile and the elder sent out his Bellsprout. With a few vine whips, Totodile was defeated. It was all up to her Metapod. She sent Metapod out, and Bellsprout continued to use vine whip. Bellsprout let out an incredibly powerful vine whip, and once it made contact, Metapod started to glow brightly... Metapod had started evolving. Metapod had turned into a Butterfree and knew the mvoe, Confusion. Butterfree used confusion many times on Bellsprout and managed to defeat it. However, when the Elder sent out his second Pokemon, which was a Hoothoot, Butterfree was defeated with ease. Though the Monk told Lyra She treated her Pokemon nicely and had a good understanding about them, and he rewarded her with a yellow necklace, which could illuminate dark passages, even though she had been defeated. With her Butterfree she quickly went to the Pokemon Center to heal her Pokemon and then challenge Faulkner, who had returned.

She defeated Faulkner, using only Butterfree, amazingly. He rewarded her with his Gym Badge and she pottered onto Azalea Town.</div>
