Head Cannon relationships between villagers? Anyone else do this?

So it started with Ellie & Big Top in my village, in the start screen I would often see them chatting away with each other. Then they have been spending more and more time around each other just in the town and NOW I've just gone into Ellies house to say my daily hello and low and behold who was there but Big Top.

BT: I love Ellie's place, its so chill. If i had a snack i could take a nap right now.

Ellie: My two favourite people are here, I hope i don't sound too desperate.

THEY ARE 100% dating I'm sorry.


I also caught Blanche in Grahams house at 3am once. I went into Grahams house surprised that the lights were on this late. I'm pretty sure I interrupted a booty call.


Does anyone else have similar instances in their towns? I would love to hear them

Judy and Diana are frenemies. They're part of the same clique, and that's why they say the same things (both being snooty). You'd think that being so similar they'd actually hang out together more, but they don't! They're too similar.
They're so similar that they fill the same role in that clique. It's not a Regina vs. Gretchen scenario. It's more like a There's Two Karens And It's No Longer Funny It's Just Annoying.
Kind of like a "There's only room for one snooty, pastel, over-the-top cutesy villager on this island..." kind of vibe.

So I put their houses right next to each other to see what kinds of things they'll do to win my favor to be the "best snooty, pastel, over-the-top cutesy villager".

As you can see from my signature, Judy is currently winning the competition. Diana better step up her gift giving game.

That is very similar, but less about the relationships between the villagers themselves and what they get up to between themselves. I'm happy to delete this and just move over to there if you think that would make more sense?

In my head...

Honestly, I can't remember seeing them in a conversation or interacting more than a passing by wave.
Since they're both snooty they are the same coding soul. Their design is also so similar that the only difference is that one is a cub and one is a lamb haha.
Judy is only winning in my personal popularity contest because her head is the same shape as my IRL baby's head.

I've started mentally referring to Anabelle & Julian as "mum and dad" because I overheard a conversation that reminds me of my parents. They were bickering over words used to describe food. My parents are equal parts cringe-inducing and irritating when they cook together. I'm waiting for the day I get a text from my dad saying, "I'm going to be on MasterChef!" So now I think of those two villagers as my parents.

Ten minutes after that exchange Lopez and Pinky echoed it and it reminded me why they need booting off the island.

Chevre and nan!!! They have each others photos above their bed and are so cute together.
(I know this is likely reference to a child's nursery rhyme/story type of thing however I prefer the idea of them being in love)

Kidd and Pashmina hang out all the time and so i think of them as sort of a weird comedy duo relationship lol
They've had some funny conversations with eachother too, like Kidd calling Pashmina mom (not really relationship but yeah)

my personal one is about eugene. he knows that i want him off of my island and how i (personally) find him ugly, and he is literally one of the three villagers (the other one being marina and broffina) who constantly sings in front of residential services and around the island. he also somehow manages to come up to my house which is at the top of my island, on the third level, when his house is at the bottom of my island on the first level. to add to that, i have a swinging bench next to my house and he's been sitting on my property, drinking his lemonade. i swear he is trolling me, but in a strange way i have grown to like/hate eugene. i still wouldn't hesitate if he wanted to leave though

Oh I definitely do this- but I don't think I ever have with romances (except that one time i was 12 and thought stitches was in love with my player character until he moved away ). Currently my relationship network in my town is like this:

Wolfgang is a bit of a loner. He hasn't truly made a friend yet and often sits outside the plaza, reading.
Kid Cat, Pango, & Marshal are part of an outdoor yoga group. Anabelle is not proud of her weight loss journey so she isn't participating yet, but she watches from afar. Kid Cat is the yoga instructor.
Marshal & Anabelle host tea parties in the plaza sometimes & the third member rotates- this time it was Rasher. Do they gossip? Or do they literally only talk about superficial things like how cute each other looks today? They better invite me one of these days...
Pango, Aurora, and Marshal are my island singing troupe- they desperately need a baritone but Wolfgang, loner that he is, is too shy to join just yet.
Phoebe, Gwen, & Kid Cat all lift, they be Liftin', and for some reason, they're always pumping iron outside my garden. Are they trying to tell me something??? Phoebe is their trainer.
Phoebe is my player character's best friend, but she is trouble on the island with the other girls. She and Gwen in particular seem to always be getting in fights. Gwen is definitely the other black sheep of our island, so Phoebe should try harder to get along with her.
Gwen & Aurora hang out a lot but I get the feeling that it's very much because they're both penguins & share similar life experiences based on that.
Marcie is the island mom- she never gets invited to the parties or hangouts, but she is the person everyone cries to. She will stay up late at night to comfort lonely or misunderstood characters & that's what makes her so invaluable.

Obviously these dynamics morph & change when people move in or out but (in my imagination) there are definitely more social animals than others.

I don't have anyone in romantic relationships on my island, but Dobie has adopted Lolly as his granddaughter. He often talks about how now that he's here, he finally has a family.

There may be something brewing between him and Cherry, but for now, it's still in the bff phase.

Sally, who is Filbert's older cousin, has taken to looking out for him and Snake, since both boys are utterly clueless. She and Lionel like to hang out on the plaza, sipping tea.

I said this one on the other thread, but here we go
- Coco always talked about Beau and was wandering near his house, but suddenly stopped. I think she was liking him but he wasn't picking up on her flirting and friendzoned her. She got mad and avoid him now lol
Some new ones bc I lot of move-ins happened this week:
- Dotty is always weight-lifting, and I think Mac is kind of scared of her because her eyes glow red when she's been training for a while.
- Mac and Lucky are buddies and share a braincell. I always see them together runing around.
- Everyone treats Clay like the baby of the group. They are always telling him to eat better lol
- Wolfgang, Kyle and Static have a group where they play poker and some music, among other things. I saw the three of them doing yoga together xD

I didn't know they had each others pictures above their beds, that's so wholesome. They're 100% an old married couple that have been together for umpteen years bless their souls!
