HE WON'T PING

Yesterday my other villagers said Derwin was planning on moving out, but it was his birthday yesterday so he was in his house all day. Today they continue to tell me he wants to leave, so logically I want him to ping me so he can stay! He won't ping. I loaded up my second character and he was in his house. I switched back to my mayor and he was in Retail. Everyone else will ping me to buy their stuff or change their greeting. Derwin is avoiding me. How do I get him to ping so he won't leave me?

Did you talk to him, with the second character?

If you haven't talked to him in a while on whatever character you're using, he won't ping. Otherwise if he's outside and he sees you he should ping you. Sometimes they won't if you've been walking around and been among a bunch of other villagers a lot. Then you can go swim into the beach, stay there for around 5 minutes,and then go look for Derwin. Make sure he is the first villager that sees you, otherwise someone else will ping you.

If he's moving tomorrow, and you do not want to timetravel, then keep loading up your mayor and eventually he will come out of your store. Additionally, if he isn't going out tomorrow, just wait until the next day if you're not timetravel-y.
