So the last time I played was in late March, and every time I feel like playing again I feel like not playing because then I'd just be going back and forth to change the date to catch up. I really don't like the idea of just skipping ahead to today's date, but my town's not exactly full of villagers to keep track of or anything like that, so it wouldn't really affect much. Then again, I also want to get the most "efficiency" out of playing a day at a time, so I can pay off my loan and upgrade stores and stuff. If I skip to May then I'd be skipping a month of precious upgrades and loan payments I could make. Let's also not forget April Fools, weeding day and Easter I'd be missing as well. So I'm kinda stuck in the middle with what I should do. Should I skip a month ahead for the sake of not playing catch up, or go a day at a time as fast as possible without really "playing"?

If you aren't worried about losing villagers (and you might not, if none were in a "ping moving" cycle when you first stopped), you could go back to the last date you played, then start jumping forward to the holidays you want to hit, and make the last jump to get you current.

I had a town that had been abandoned for a year and a half. I went back to my last day, just to check on villagers, then made the big jump forward. I lost my hybrids, except for a couple of gold roses, and there were weeds everywhere, but I've been playing steadily since, and am back to having a perfect town.

Easiest & safest way to do it: Go back to the last day you played, then go day by day making sure to talk to the villagers you want to keep. When a villager asks to move, say yes or no, then save & make one huge leap to the current date. You'll have weeds, but no one will leave

Go back to the last day you played. Stop someone from moving, put the beautiful ordinance in effect and then jump to current date / other holiday. Shouldn't take you too long, I think this is the fastest way to do it.

Yeah, that should work. :) Or if you want, go day by day to all of the events. :)
