Have you moved on from losing a villager?

In Acme I lost Sylvia who got in boxes when my town was starting for whatever reason.
Then, I lost Bubbles who moved out after I went to play in a 3DS with the incorrect date.

Despite this, I moved on and don't plan to have them back in any of my towns.

Both are hanging around Main Street after more villagers moved out.

Back when I lost Coco, who had moved to my mom's town, I was beyond determined to get her back from my mom. I was working on that 16 villager cycle. This was long before the update. One day though, after Coco had been gone for weeks (months even), I just kinda said to myself "I'm okay with this."

I will always love Coco, but I'm fine with loving he from afar

This has happened a few times for me, but the two most prominent in my mind are Eugene and Mott.

I had Eugene living in my main town, Haunton, and his design is one of my favorites. He moved out unexpectedly, not telling me and apparently not telling any of my other villagers, when I was trying to get Fuchsia to move out and make room for Whitney.

My heart sank when I saw Isabelle tell me that he was moving out, and I was really bummed out for like an hour. I bounced back though and soon after got Fuchsia to finally move out. I didn't end up liking Whitney since her eyes look weird when you talk to her straight on, so it was kind of a waste. It kind of worked out though in the end, because I ended up replacing those two spots with Beardo and Stitches.


Despite getting over it quickly and bouncing back, I still really like him and hope to acquire him again in one of my other towns.


I had Mott living in one of my other towns and was trying to acquire dream villagers. I liked him but liked my dream villagers more, so when he asked to leave, I accepted his request. I came to regret this very quickly though, because I came to really like his design and that his name made me think of apple sauce. It was too late to stop him from moving out by the time I really wanted to keep him, as I think I was adopting some other villager at the time.

Again, like Eugene, I plan to reacquire him in the future.


I guess you could say that since I want to get them back, that I haven't exactly "moved on", but I'm not distraught or anything not having them for the time being. A couple examples of some villagers I had to get rid of that I liked but that didn't fit my town themes would include Agent S and Tucker. This might also be the fate of Lucha and Gladys.

When Molly said she was leaving I was gutted. My rules have always been that once I get their picture that I must let the villager go. She was the last of my original villagers and I adored her. I'll get her back one day. At the moment I'm just glad I see her on main street.

I was super sad when Lucky moved away. He was the first ever villager that moved away when I first started playing acnl. I got over it though. One day I plan on getting him again if he's moving from someone's town or something...

I was sad when Roald moved out because I had him in Wild World. I think I was sick or something, so I didn't play for maybe a few days, but then he was gone. At least I got his flat-screen TV before he left. Now I see him almost everyday on Main Street, so its a little comforting.

It depends what villager it is,
If its one that I really like, I'll probably will not move on for half a hour and then I'll say 'Meh, I'll get them back"
Sometimes, I never get them back and just forget them or I get them back and relove them again!
If its a villager I dont like I'll move on quite easily since I haven't grew a relationship with them!

I lost Molly on a stupid mistake early in the game which was time traveling. When I got the game, Molly was one of my starters with the other villagers I had. I wanted to get bells fast, so I searched up on the topic and found out time traveling. I tried it out, but I didn't know what would happen if you time travel. And so Molly moved out and the first one to move out of my town. :c The good thing I have her back, but I'm not very fond of her like the rest of my starters.

I used to get really upset but now I've let a lot of them go. I feel like I look back on having the villagers with rose-colored lenses! I used an amiibo card to get Lopez in my town after losing him six months ago and my reaction was... pretty half-hearted. I wouldn't mind if he left again. Which is strange, because he was my closest relationship and he'd always bring me to his house for my birthday 3 yrs in a row.

I am still pretty upset about losing Moe, though, he was a favorite. Though it seems I'm always destined to lose him. First time I lost him was ten years ago >_>

I lost Stitches a few months ago. It tore me up, but when I realized that the new amiibo cards could bring them back instantly, I totally forgot about it.
