I was just curious because its only happened to me maybe...two times? I can only remember one experience pretty clearly but other then that I can't remember the rest. I did the worldwide island since I feel like more people join that one and I met a girl who didn't really speak English. She was trying to ask me questions and I couldn't answer them because I had no idea what she was saying to me. I even kept saying "sorry I can't understand" but then she started yelling at me...I think. I saw a few swear words in the sentences so I'm pretty sure she was yelling at me for something xD
I was just on the TC last night and well i went in with full room, 1 japanese, 1 chinese, and one from US. So I went in room was quiet for a bit and no one said hello. I think there was a tension already before i got in. So i tried to make conversation and got a reply from this japanese guy in his own language and letter, obviously i couldn't understand it. Then this girl from us said "they can't understand english". So US girl went to the counter for tour but wouldnt sit down for like 30 secs. I think the girl was looking to see if anyone wanted to come and join her in tour, so i sat down cause i wanted the tour anyway this guy from china started what looks like yelling in his language and the angry emotions. I thought that was pretty rude. :-/
I've only been to CT a small number of times, and the worst someone did was hit the WiFi switch for barely a reason. I've heard some pretty gnarly stories though.
Yeah, that happens to me on occasion. That's why I wish there was like a translate option or something to actually understand the person. I feel like that'd be kinda cool to have
I've met quite a few rude people there, people who demand money and trap everyone there by starting a tour and not sitting and then demanding money until I inevitably hit my WiFi switch, it's pretty rude. But once I trolled one of them by dropping a ton of money and THEN hitting my WiFi switch so they had all fought over the money and tried to pick it all up but then it was all for not HAHAHA. But yeah I've met a lot of rude people there, most of them were super young kids too, like seriously, I'm old enough to have birthed you myself get outta my face.
I seem to be pretty lucky with Tortimer Island. Everyone seems to be pretty nice on the Australian only islands and I generally don't go to the international ones but I have had a couple of bad experiences. The most memorable one was when I was one an island with 2 americans and 1 other person who spoke english. It started out fine and we were talking about other games and anime we liked but after the third person left and it was only me and the two americans they got into a heated argument because one was a Trump supporter and the other was strongly anti-Trump, and they then expected me as an Australian to have an opinion in the matter.
I've met a few. Had a kid go off on one at me because they wanted to get equal medals in the hide and seek your (which they chose).
Anyway, they left it until the last few minutes before asking me to find the villager they were missing and call them over. Obviously pretty impossible as I didn't know who they had found. I got an 'I hate you' afterwards
Wasn't that bothered as they were clearly very young. Another time I had somebody try to stop me buying and leaving with the toy hammer. Just wouldn't move from the desk. Had a lot of people begging for bells, which they just shoot themselves in the foot really as I usually go and drop a few mil on the island if there is nobody begging.
Had a lot of 'im so poor' as soon as I arrive. My standard response is 'me too'. I have met some nice people on there, but I think the bad experiences are actually more frequent for me
my overall experience has been pretty fine. the only kind of rude experience I had was with an 11 year old who was uptalking herself about knowing how to play violin and called me dumb for not knowing the strings and then I ignored her for a bit and she assumed I was googling this stuff when I was just afk for a bit. Theeennn she started calling ME immature and also called me a bum in the same sentence which had me confused af. then she blocked me and spent the rest of the time telling me how she had blocked me and then did an error and I was actually kind of amused by all this. like damn, that was actually kind of intense.
Also, i meet fairly often with my cousin on club tortimer and every time I go afk for a long period of time this happens.
I don't believe I have so far. There may have been a handful who have come across as rude but I don't think it was intentional. It's very difficult to communicate when you have people who speak different languages which is why I usually stick to my own country.
One time with this girl who only spoke a few words english but was fun to play with, after some time I told her I had to leave and she just said "Thats too bad" before shutting off her wifi. Another time was with this dude who wouldn't let me leave if I didn't give him my crown, so I just acted like I was afk and when he let his guard down I got the heck outta there.
I actually never went to club tortimer, for just that reason. Kinda just want to avoid the trolls and rude people. I know not everyone is like that but still don't want to go.
This was just awkward...maybe slightly rude? who knows! But it this was from like two years ago. I went to the island because I was bored and came across a group of 3. All of them where from the US and could speak English. They seemed rather nice, apart from one person. He was...strange. We started to do some kind of fashion show? When everybody was dressing up in qr code clothes they had. I didn't take part, to be honest I was being a bit of a troll and was going around cutting down all the palm trees so they couldn't catch bugs (as it was late at night.). So I was trying to create a nice pattern out of coconuts but nope. The weird guy who I shall call Tom picked them all up and just ran away with them. I then tried with flowers and he ran over them. He then dug loads of holes around us all and then buried said coconuts. I am pretty sure he was a hacker has he had pitfall seeds some how and preceded to dig them around us.
Time went past and we went on a few tours, all four of us. Then we came back and did this game show kind of thing. Long story short we did this kind of truth or dare thing and then Tom said he had feelings for me. I have never flipped the switch any faster. It was just so awkward and off putting. Pretty sure he was like 10.
I've mostly just dealt with greedy beggars. Some guy said he was broke and asked me for Bells. I have a lot so I gave him 500,000. He said "thanks" and then ten seconds later he says, "Can I have 1,000,000?" I was pretty annoyed and told him he was greedy before leaving. Who has the nerve to ask for more Bells after someone has been kind enough to give them some already?
I don't go to the island much, and I usually go alone, but once I was there with some other people and one guy was asking everyone for bells (it was the evening so I said "catch some beetles fam" and he was NOT pleased lol) but one girl gave him 40k which was all she had, and asked him to go on a tour with her. He said "I'm going to pay off my dream suite!" and left as soon as he picked up the money. I went on the tour with her and it was a lot of fun, she was so sweet. I feel so bad that the guy took all her bells and bailed
