Ah im reaching that point ^^; i finished up my second to last massive area last night.
Still five empty areas left with not many design slots. I wish they were unlimimted. But now I gotta use the cl9tjing portal for some. Like all my Pokemon are on clothing now.
On my main island I used up all the design slots awhile ago. On my newly restarted second island I haven’t used many yet. What would help me on my main island is if we could use the small and medium rugs outside. It would free up a good amount of slots .
i haven't really done much with custom designs. i did download an extensive version of the path which took up a bunch of slots but i've never gotten anywhere near filling them up.
Ugh, I have 4 or 5 left and it sort of panics me since it's really fun to create them. Maybe I'll try to keep one open so I can still make more and upload them. I have more slots in the Pro designs, so I can always make stuff there.
No, I was never interested in making designs nor downloading any, my res rep sadly doesn't have Nintendo Online (but one of my other characters does, because I am silly and set up the accounts wrong, and don't want to lose progress by island resetting). So it is a hassle to get designs on my main account. Not to mention, i don't have a lot of ideas, and drawing tiny pixelated designs is infuriating to me and it never lines up when I actually do make a design :/
I have 22 left, with some slots I don't use and keep on standby for changes. My roads are all using the game's cobble stone path and I've created a couple gutters and storm drains to line the edges of them. The rest are random roofs and tiles plus a few shop signs. I have a couple slots I always change out when there's an event or something I want to celebrate on my island eg. fireworks festival or a friend's birthday.
I’ve used up all of them on my main island a long time ago. Mostly for flooring patterns that have a ton of pieces. I use all of those flooring options too, so I can’t delete any of them. On my second island, I still have I’d say about have of the custom design slots left. Same thing here, all of the slots I’ve used are for my main paths and tiles, so I won’t be deleting any of those.
The apparel designs, no, I still have a lot of spare spaces.
The regular designs, yes, I'm completely full. It probably doesn't help that I tend to use a lot of them once in one part of the island, and nowhere else.
I maxed out my custom design slots before the update, since then I still have plenty of pro design slots left, but I've used all of the regular ones. I feel like they gave us two little too late. If we had had more slots from the very beginning I'm sure I would have filled them up more, as at the time I was more interested in getting custom designs.
It really doesn't make sense that there's such a strict limit on the amount you can keep. Anyway, like the file must be so small, why couldn't we have had some sort of cloud storage option for them? Nintendo's always dropping the ball on things like this.
I'm running really low on the regular design slots, and have had to start deleting some to fit others. I still have a bit more room on the second type, but I'm sure I'll fill that up too. I try to conserve as much as possible by finding designs that only take up 1 slot instead of ones that take up multiples, but I'm running out with even that. I use designs a lot because of my world of imagination theme.
oh that's never gonna happen. im too lazy to download many custom designs, the most i've ever done is downloading two versions of The Path bc i didnt like the way the first one looked (and yes i did have to redo a lot of my island)
I don't really use pro designs that much, so I have plenty of room for more.
However, my regular design slots are all filled, unfortunately. I love using different kinds of paths and pavement so I ended up using them all for decorating my island.
I don’t download them too often and when I do I usually grab a handful at a time while also going through current ones and purging a lot that I barely use or have never ended up using. I really only get a 1-time use design if it’s the perfect design or something that adds a bit of uniqueness to whatever I’m decorating.
I think the current amount of slots is more than enough, though one thing I hope is considered in future AC games is the option to upload our own “road” codes, so designs that are used for borders don’t have to take up 9+ spots. Maybe like a pro design that’s specifically for a road that allows you to add all the pieces and then when you place it, it’s smart enough to format itself correctly (kinda like fencing when you make a corner).
Outside of that I think we are blessed in NH with the abundance of custom slots. Even before they gave us 50 more, it was really nice to see that expanded in this game!
Yesss! I'm completely out of room! For the outfit side, psh, space galore. But for the custom designs for paths, signs, etc ...that thing is completely full. I am forever trying to decide what to let go.
The main reasons are -
I share the island, so I have to share the custom design slots. And one resident sells things in a shop, and he uses custom slots for different pricing signs. I can't complain too much, because he makes a ton of fish bait. So until I catch that blue marlin, I'm stuck buying the fish bait and dealing with the price signs.
The other reason - some of the path designs i like take up way too many slots. I could probably find a way to simplify that.
I've completely filled out my regular custom designs, but I still have plenty of room in my pro/apparel designs. All of my regular custom designs are ones I've made myself. I haven't spent much time on making custom apparel!
