Yep, I bred my first pair myself .. Took 7 months of TT'ing though.. Man was I glad when that was over, haha.. But the second generation red roses can spawn every type of rose, so I got lots of epic hybrids in the process <3
This is the guide i used for my hybrids including the blue rose.
Source is the April 2013 issue of the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsuu DS+Wii.
I figured since the game had been out in Japan for over 6 months, they wouldn't print this info (with an illustration!).
I'm only listing the rarer and stranger hybrids.
Firstly, it confirms getting a 'Special Red' from an orange and a purple rose. Two 'Special Reds' then make a blue rose.
To get purple tulips, you need 2 orange tulips.
To get black cosmos, you need 2 orange cosmos.
To get white carnations, you need 2 pink carnations (although my friend swears blind he got a red from two pinks... I haven't tested this).
Finally, purple pansies are the other super rare, demanding 'Special Oranges'.
Breed an orange with a blue to get a 'Special Orange'. Use 2 'Special Oranges' to get purple pansies.
Pretty sure I bred my own, I just had a mixed batch of roses over a huge plot and watered the heck out of em for a season, got a bit of everything that way. only thing I dont have is gold because i dont want to turn off my beautiful town ordinance and risk losing my nice flowers.
I used to breed them all the time in older games. I used purple and black. I'm trying to make some more in ACNL, so I'm using an arrangement of purple and black flowers.
I have no orginization to my flowers. A cluster if about 4 roses has spread to cover most of my town. I swear some MUST be hybrid reds. I have at least 40 red roses, at least 2 must be hybrids
I grew mine with the maybe special red rose. It takes a lot of time but it worth it when you find the first blue rose.
Used orange and purple roses to get my maybe special red rose.
Town 2 I did the same setup but it didn't seem to work. Since I already had an overflow in my first town I took some from there.
My 2nd town grew purple tulip and purple pansies. Noticed that it likes to grow more black cosmos too.
