Have you ever regretted resetting?

Hi,
Since I've gotten the dream suit lately I've been visiting other towns a lot and I'm starting to regret choosing my map. Well, it's not too bad but it's really difficult to decorate because of awkward rocks and stuff. I haven't played too long either (a month) but I've gotten pretty far. I thought it would be nice too hear if someone has extremely regret this decision or not and what your, as most of you are experienced mayors, opinion on my townmap is. :) image.jpg

Thanks a lot,
Luisa

(I'm sorry if the thread is in the wrong place, I'm pretty new haha)

I actually really like your map. The only bad thing about it is the fact that ReTail is so far away from the dock. But you have so much space to do whatever with, especially on the northern chunk of the map. You have this giant area to the left of the town hall that you could decorate with PWPs, flowers, whatever.

My map has everything more spread out, so it's a little harder to build at times.

Wow thank you, helps a lot :)

Idk I would reset if it wouldn't take so long to get the qr machine and the island (I don't want to tt) because I don't really like my villagers too much... Sigh
The worst thing about my map is that the town tree is in an awkward place imo

I personally like your town layout. But if you want to reset and it's bothering you, I say just do it. I have regretted resetting a few times before, but if you find a town you really like and work on it, the feeling soon goes away :)

My personal opinion is this: it's your game. It's there for your enjoyment.
If you're not happy about something in your town that you can't change, I say reset.

I have reset a few times and I only regret the second one. My map was so perfect for me.
BUUUT, if I hadn't reset, I would have been stuck and unhappy. To me, there's no point in
playing a game that makes you unhappy.

Hope you enjoy your new town!

I don't know what to say. I got 4 of my dreamies (stitches, Goldie, nibbles and Monique), the perfect map (retail is still a bit far away but idrc), native fruit cherry (fave). It was the best decision ever I'm literally crying haha grass is squares though but I don't mind. I decided on tt to get my qr machine and the island sooner. Do you think there's a high risk that someone moves out? image.jpg

Once you get 9 villagers, I would slow down TTing to once a day till someone pings you, or you notice your other villagers mentioning someone moving.

I have reset several times, but only once for my Main Town. Even tho I had a lot built up and some badges for my Main Town I have never regretted my reset. I'm still working on my new town, but I am so glad that I reset. I had come to HATE my town and resetting was the best thing I ever did. :)

I think your map is good. You have space for PWP's, houses, and a smaller space for a more intimate-feeling area as well. I also love the vertical access to the lower beach. Nice!

ETA - For paths, I like it when you can link a few things together in a fairly straight line. Your Train Station and Plaza can be linked, as well as your Re-Tail and house (iirc) your locations.

It's your chose whether you wish to reset or not. I've resetted twice in AC:NL and I'm happy to have done so both times. They are times when I have grown out of NL for some time in favor of other games like Pokemon X/Y. When I come back to NL, I find it best to have a fresh start.

On the two maps shown, I personally prefer the first one, but each to their own. The first one looks nicer in my opinion, as I like it when town maps have a secluded 'island' at the bottom. The second one is good too, though! It's great that you got some of your dream villagers with your reset, especially. I remember I got one dreamie when I started my most recent town -- Kyle -- and I thought that was impressive!

It sounds like you made the right decision there, by the looks of things. Enjoy your new town! :)
