Have you ever hunted for a villager for a long time just to be disappointed by them?

I wanted a smug cat since new leaf and then Raymond happened. I finally got him and I'm just not clicking with him the way I thought I would. I like smug villagers and and would probably die for Marshal. I also really like cats to the point where half my villagers are cats and I'm probably going to get more. but there's something about Raymond that just makes me want to let him leave. :/
note: not being edgy and hating raymond because he's popular. i ignored the craze and got him simply because i thought i would like him.

anyone else have a similar experience with a "dreamie"?

One of my dreamies was Skye and I thought I would like her a lot but I really havent clicked with her. Dont know what it is.

Regarding Raymond, he is one of my dreamies and Id be happy to take him off your hands if you dont want him as he is the one I am looking for the most next. ;-)

i thought skye was cute when i found her on a nook island, but her dialog was so BLAND. i feel like they did Normals dirty in this game. I didn't even like Lolly in New Horizons and she was my absolute favorite in New Leaf.

I didn’t end up keeping zucker even though he’s really cute. Just didn’t end up vibing with him as much as some of my other lazy villagers.

I have to agree with Normal villagers. I love a lot of Normal villagers. Skye, Mitzi, Lolly, Lily, Maple, Gayle to name a few. But they're so... plain. Sometimes too polite and so... delicate?

NH villagers are so trope-y.

i've tried rosie out in this game and in NL but it never clicked right, i replaced her with tangy and i must say its been a huge improvement

I wanted Judy because she is new, rare and no amiibo... Once I got her I could not wait for her to leave.. Finally TT to get rid of her and traded her for some star fragments....

didn't exactly hunt for cookie, but i found her on a mystery island and invited her. she is in my acnl game and i love her a lot, so i though why not have her in acnh? but since i already had another peppy, felicity, the two just kept reusing the same dialogue so i got pretty bored with her unfortunately

Audie, I hunted her down and fell for her looks. But I just don’t feel a connection to her, thinking of letting her go.

The only difference really is appearance, and some minor differences like one of the two sub personality, and preferences, so no.

Pretty much every new villager except Judy disappointed in some way and I wish I didn’t search so hard for some of them. I think it’s because I didn’t have high expectations for her but she ended up being creepily cute. I let her go since I got her picture but I was happy to experience her!
Reneigh and Dom actually just came to me randomly (starter and random move in) and they both actually have surprised me in great ways.

I actually searched really hard for Zucker, and ended up biting the bullet and buying his Amiibo (which was actually almost just as difficult to find).

I mean I love him, he's sweet, he's adorable, he's a takoyaki bby, but he just doesn't really excite me. I'm keeping him cause his house fits the aesthetic of my island, but he just didn't seem like he was worth the effort.

I honestly find Genji to be super underrated compared to "S-tier" villagers like Zucker.

I have a deer themed island and was really excited when I got Bruce after a little over a week of searching. His design is great - he wears an afterschool jacket and has an alleyway house interior complete with graffiti walls. But I don't get why they made him a cranky villager when he seems more like a highschool delinquent. Had to let him go because the dialogue just didn't suit him

I hunted for Audie quite a bit on both my old and current island and now I don't have her at all. She just doesn't fit the peppy personality well imo and I prefer the bunnies or cats for that personality.

this was me with both Tia and Merengue. I loved them design-wise but the normal dialogue is just way too bland for me. I legitimately can't remember what they talk about. Fauna is staying on my island for sure because I love her, but even with her I end up straight skipping the dialogue because its so boring

same I will have Merengue move out when she decides to. I feel like there are better villagers, I really want to get Bea!

didn't have to search long but i got fauna and i loved her in NL (design/dialogue) but idk what it is about normal villagers in NH that just don't click ): will probably put coco in her place. last game, i didn't mind that i had both marina and pekoe at the same time at one point in NL but i think this time around i'll stick to just having one normal for my island

i'd take peppy/uchi over them when that wasn't the case before. it's cute when i run into uchis and crankies talking!!

No one so far has been an disappointment for me from an NMT island because I grew on them. If so, I’ll probably move them out.
