...When you visit another town/dream town and think, "Man, this is much cooler than my village?" I know I have a lot.
But at the end of the day, my town is great in it's own ways, and even if it doesn't have my dream villagers or all the fruits, or flowers strategically placed everywhere, it's still my town and I love it just the same.
Has anyone else ever felt this feeling?

Yeah, I used to think everyone's was better than mine then I realized that I had seen no town that looked like mine.
I had seen towns posted with 10/10 ratings on a website. As I visited each one, they all had the same theme, villagers, pwps, etc. My town was different and I really value that. If I found a town that looked exactly like mine, I'd be devastated.

I don't visit Dream Towns with similar themes to mine for that very reason. I often feel like my town is inferior, and I have reset many times. I promised myself I wouldn't do it again, but it's hard.

I was like this when I started visited dream towns, I felt like my town was so small and my town map was horrible that I wanted to reset so many times. But after I started working on my town I felt proud and happy and now I have no regrets whatsoever.

Even though I like my town the way it is, I've been trying to improve it so it looks somewhat presentable compared to all those great towns. :P

Of course. My town is pretty plain and empty. But I haven't redone my town like I said I would and added the paths. So it's not at all finished.

Hmm, maybe when I started visiting yea but I've visited a bunch of really beautiful dream towns and all I've thought of all the time was "my town is going to be this nice someday". It's just going to take a whooole lot of time and effort but it will be. :P more of a motivation to me.

Yeah I've felt like that a lot. When I visit dream towns sometimes I'm like " This person's town layout is WAY better than mine." Other times though people haven't really done anything with there town and it's just plain and boring. It makes me think a little bit, because my town isn't near perfect, but at least it has something.

Yeah, but that's to be expected. I haven't done a whole lot with my town yet since I'm still trying to unlock some PWPs I know I'm going to use, Lief hasn't started selling bushes, and I'm insisting on creating my own designs rather than just scanning QR Codes. It'll be a while before I get the hang of pixel art, and unlocking PWPs is a slow process.

I pretty much agree with this. Well, expect for that last statement. Mimicry is one of the best forms of flattery. :P

I've had that feeling once or twice, but I love how different my town is. The town is perfect to my taste as well, so it feels like something unique to me. I think that is the point of customizing so much in Animal Crossing. It is suppose to fit your needs, not really impress others.

I've often felt like this as well, and judging from most of the replies on this thread already I'm sure others also have.

Comparing myself to others is one of my weak points when it comes to almost anything really, so when I finally unlocked the dream suite I would always visit dream towns that I found caught my interest and then feel bad because I know mine didn't look nearly as great! /// But... Overtime, I learned that I personally love my town for what it is, and it keeps growing and progressing? So now, whenever I visit others, I always think "wow this person did a great job! i'm sure they're very happy with their little town of theirs, just like i am with mind ♥" instead of thinking of all the negatives.

at some point during working on my town I even wanted to make my town so it could purely be as a dream town others could visit -- although I let go of that idea because I remembered why i really started my town and got the game, and that was because I wanted a little place to relax for myself that would make me happy. I am hoping to get my town finished up so I could still make a dream code for myself, although till then I'm mostly centering my town over personal things I love and enjoy, rather than constantly comparing myself to other's whenever I visit the dream suite? ///

Overall each of a person's towns are like snowflakes, just like their mayors and who play acnl in the first place ♥ And as long as it makes a person personally happy about their own little town, that's all that should matter I suppose?

oopsie i also rambled a little too much...
